I've been taking a sublingual B complex with B12 for the past 1 1/2 weeks. I couldn't take the regular B complex vitamins because they upset my stomach but I was so thankful when I realized that the sublingual version doesn't! So today I took both bottles down and compared them because I was curious why I wasn't getting the yellow pee anymore. I noticed that the sublingual version has very minimal amounts of the vitamins in comparrison to the pills. Is it because it's more easily absorbable....or.....???

the yellow pee is from vitamins in excess of that which you can absorb. so, as my sister's doctor calls it 'expensive pee' lack of the yellow pee does mean that you are absorbing all of whichever vitamin causes the yellowness (i don't know which number b that is) but it does not mean you are getting enough, necessarily. you could perform an experiment of taking more and more each day until you get the neon pee, and then backing off one dose the next day. i'm sure however that there are cofactors for absorbtion, and other issues like amounts present in diet which vary from day to day, and make us able to absorb x amount on tuesday, but x+3 on wednesday.Â
