New from Baltimore, MD

I'm new here. I currently live in Baltimore, MD, and after years of infertility just had my first baby, a girl, in September. I don't know many people with kids, and none of my friends have any, so it's safe to say I feel completely isolated now that I'm a parent. I'm an older mom, having just turned 41 right before my little girl was born. It's more than likely that at this point in our lives, my friends won't be having kids (they've all made the decision that it wasn't for them), so I'll probably be on my own with this for good.

I love being an older mom because I feel like I can focus more on her without having to feel like I'm missing out on anything. I did the fun stuff you do in your 20s and 30s, and now I'm really happy to do the fun stuff in my 40s with my daughter, if that makes any sense.

Anwyay, I'm happy to be here.
