Babies are here. They arrived last night at 11:26pm via emergency c/s. I dont feel so bad about it really. By the time I got to the hospital I was contracting every 3-4 minutes. And wow were they intense. I was 100% effaced and 2cm dilated. I was shocked and elated and in alot of pain. I was managing alright for awhile but I did end up choosing to get my epidural when I could no longer relax through them, even with my hypnobabies playing.
Â
Thats when everything went crazy. The epidural took my BP so low so fast that I nearly passed out. Which made the little miss's heartrate drop into the 50s and 60s and stay there. The OB was in with me (not mine but she was my 2nd choice) while this was going on and I asked her what the hell she was waiting for. So I signed consent forms and we went into the OR.
Â
OB was really great. And all in all, the surgery wasnt traumatic at all. They didnt tie my arms, they let me see them come out, they talked me through everything. It went well. When she made the incision on my uterus, little man immediately stuck his butt through it so he was born first. Both came out crying and pink. Little man didnt get the benefit that little girl did (being squeezed the the birth canal) so after about 10 minutes he started having some breathing troubles and went to the NICU. My little missy though, perfect as an angel went to newborn nursery.
Â
She is alittle bit lazy about latching but is trying very hard to get the hang of it. I am actually headed out now to nurse little man for the first time. Hes been in IVs since he went to the NICU but is screaming his head off now and is keeping his stats up and will be coming to be with me and little miss. I will be poumping in between feedings so I get good supply.
