I think I am pregnant

I just have to share this with someone! I am 36, have 3 kids ages 16, 9 and 7 with a MC between first and second. All we have ever used for "protection" is fertility awareness. It has always worked for us. About 8 mo ago, I realized my cycles were a bit weird and I had NO CM. In July I started charting my temps - never had to do that before - and I used OPKs for 3 mo, confirming that I was not ovulating. We have some "male factor" issues - low libido due to age and with the two together, well, like I said, our youngest is 7 years old.

This mo, my chart is WAY different. But, I did have a cold, and we did just get a new bed (a king size water bed of all things - newborns aren't supposed to sleep on them are they?) so I could explain my "beautiful" chart temps away and surely there is no way I could really be pregnant? Is there? I took a HPT on what was apparently 13 dpo - it was neg, at first, later I looked at it and could see a faint pink line. Evap line, right? Have not had the nerve to test again. Sure have not said anything to DH yet. Two days late now and my temp was over 99 this morning - should be around 97.5.

We have a couple of "issues". One, I am 36 and have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and have arthritis in my hips. Dh is in his 60's!!!!! Not looking to start over at this point. Oh, and yeah, I just lost 20 lbs - finally back to close to where I want to be - just bought 2 pairs of new jeans. Kinda freaking out here. Don't get me wrong - if there is a baby in there, it is meant to be and I WANT him or her, just very nervous.

Hugs mama!  I hope you get a definitive answer soon!   I think the wondering can be the hardest part!

I'm also pg with my 4th and it was a surprise for us, but welcome nonetheless.  I wish you peace with whatever comes your way!

Test again! Test again!

Zinnia, I understand being nervous about testing again.  I've certainly felt the same way before!

How many days have you had elevated temps?  If you reach 20 days, you don't even need to take another HPT.

But when I think I'm pregnant, I often can't wait for my chart to tell me.  I take a test as soon as I think it might show positive.   The test I took this pregnancy was very faint at first, but darkened as it sat.  I waited until 14 dpo to take it, though.

I wish you well no matter what the results!

I tested this morning.  Dark pos line!!!  Was not even FMU - I got up 3 times in the night.  Temp has been elevated 15 days, I think - I am 3 days past when AF should be here.  Have not told DH yet - I know it will be easier when I do but I just don't know how this time.  It will come up soon enough though.  Part of me is absolutely thrilled with having another baby - I always wanted more - just not the most practical thing for us.  The other part is very nervous!

Congrats! I'm 18w with a surprise #4 too! It was a lot to process at first but we're thrilled. I had the same test pattern too. Neg 14dpo with a faint line after the 10 minute window and a dark pos the next day!

We have a surprise babe cooking too after 8 yrs of infertility with unsucessfull infert. treatments and an adoption 5.5 years ago.  Our span is 21 yrs., 19 yrs., 5.5 yrs and now due June 6, 2011.  Good luck.  The shock still hits me at times since we figured we weren't having anymore.

Wow, Zinnia, you've got more than a few months ahead of you, you've got a few years ahead of you! I've never quite gotten out of the "baby phase" over here; I can't imagine being out of it for so long and then getting back in gear again. BUT, I believe with you this was meant to be and a BLESSING! Enjoy your baby (if not your pregnancy winky.gif)!
