I was going to PM a mod but I cant tell if any are online. In the old forum there was a list of users online I dont see that now so how do we contact a mod online for those truly horrible troll/spam posts to get them attended ASAP?

i had the same problem. i clicked on the flag and it gives a progress bar but no confirmation that it was sent.....

"All new posts" now always seems to contain exactly 200 posts.  Does that mean that it doesn't actually include ALL new posts since the last time I visited, but only the most recent 200?

I am off and on suffering through super slow load times.  I posted on the other thread about slow load times.  Blocking the avatars seems to help a tiny bit.

I'm running Windows XP with IE 8 on my desktop and Windows 7 with IE 8 using cable.

i have 2 things and i really would take the time to read the whole thread, but i dont have the energy :(

i do not have a "all new post" button anymore... i had it the other day, but its gone now.

also... i cant find the edit button. i posted in the wrong thread and went to edit and i could not see how to do it. i thought maybe that feature was removed until i see others editing their posts...

thanks for the help!

ps... i am sure it has everything to do with being new, but i find this program MUCH less user friendly. i will update my view as time goes on... right now i am not in love!

Is the "view new posts" button missing from all the pages ie main forum page and individual threads? We dont have one on our profile page or our subscribed threads page but hopefully that will change in the future.

The edit button should be at the bottom of you post box on the left hand side next to the red flag report button (anyone else find it a bit odd to be able to report your own post :p )

Here is a screenshot

Sorry if this has already been addressed....

When I quote someone, and shorten the quote (delete some), I sometimes can not get my cursor to move to the space after the quote to type a response.  I can type before the quote or in the quote, but not after it.

I'm afraid I don't know all my tech info redface.gif.  I have a pc, windows, internet explorer.

so i can only post after the quote if i multi quote it then hit post reply. if i just click quote then i cant post under it.

There appears to be a glitch using the Rich Text Editor which causes problems with being able to reply under a quoted box. The way around it right now is to use the BB Code editor which you can change in your  My Profile under Edit Account Details. Another way some have been getting around it is by clicking of the Source box above where you write the text.

Personally I find it easier to use BB Code in general. Though it is impossible to read the quoted part with all the code in it. Right now I am just c&p the quoted part back to the top after typing in my reply. More work that way but I can read the post I am replying to that way.

They moved the All new posts link at the top of the pages the other day.  (At least I'm pretty sure it's different now from where it was at first.)  Now it's way over on the right.  Does that help?

NAK and don't have the chance to go back and search-but smilies in siggies still aren't working for my own and others most of the time.  And can we not use code like :lol for siggies?  I'm using Safari and have a Mac OS x 10.5.8

I also can not post and "submit" from my itouch.

I'm on Firefox and having a lot of issues with the Reply box.  Sometimes it won't let me enter down to start a new paragraph, other times it boots my cursor up to the very beginning and inserts my text in front of what I have already written.  I can't see the cursor most of the time.  If I click out of the box it will no longer let me type in it and won't let me copy what I have written so I can redo my post.

notes2.gif  It's not the eomoticon I was looking for, but somehow, the  emoticons on the right are gone and I have to click on a button that takes a good 45 minutes to load (exaggerated).  I was looking for the "True Dat" one.

Did we fire the  planner or the programmer half way through the new design?  Did they ever even talk to each other?

That worked for this reply.  I guess I'll use this technique for now! :)

:yeah  in fact, I came here to say how mad I was about it.  but after reading the thread I don't have the energy. nak.  i wrote a post and then the cursor thing happened and put part up at the top, i tried to move it and lss the main part of the post was erased, not the part i wa strying to move or erase.

i hit edit a few times and no problems in this forumm... anyway, I am a bit frustrated with the slowness, the lack of smileys, my posts  (and cursor) disappearring and there being a lot less people on the forum.  vent.  I guess I will check back each week.

What users want-the site to work.  That's what I want.

Super slow, glitchy, and just not that great to come on here.  I keep giving it another chance, but I'm starting to get a bit frustrated.

I'm also having problems with the reply box cursor going up to the top of the reply box halfway through writing a message, and being absolutely unable to get back to what I had written before. so far only had that happen with the PM box though.

(using win7 and FF both updated to most recent).

Hi, everyone! Thanks for hanging in here with us while we investigate the variety of issues still being reported and encountered. I really appreciate your taking the time to let us know so we can get everything working more smoothly for you. We definitely understand the frustration felt and are working as fast as we can to make things right!

If you are missing a button or a tab that you previously had access to, one thing to try is to log out of the site, clear your browser's cache and cookies and then log back in. If this doesn't resolve your missing feature, please let us know.

The All New Posts button should be located in the Forum Navigation Bar at the top, right above the thread's title.

The team is still investigating smilie issues. We know we've had specific problems with the knitting smilie, MDC Rocks, champagne and Happy Birthday smilies not being able to be posted. I understand that some aren't able to post any smilies, some can only post one. We should have the ability to post unlimited smilies once a member has reached a 7 day and 10 post threshold, so obviously things still aren't where we need them to be. I know how much folks love the smilies, so this is definitely being addressed.

For anyone who is experiencing cursor or quoting issues, a fix can be to default back to the BB Code editor. Please see this for more information. It can help. I know how frustrating editor problems are!

BB code does not work in signatures
The BB code editor preference does not currently extend to the signature editor or to wikis. We are developing a fix so we can carry this ability over to both signatures and wikis. So, this means for those of us using the BB Code editor, we can't just type in the code of the smilie--we actually have to manually select it from the smilie pop-up box.

no idea what bb code is, but I used the smilies box in my siggie and none of the like 5 i used worked.

BB Code is the colon with the word for the smile after it. If you are having trouble with firefox and the current Rich Text editor you can change it to BB Code editor in your profile.
