When you hover over Forums at the top, a drop down menu appears where you are supposed to click on the forum you want.  If I use this menu as soon as I load the page, it works fine.  But if I scroll down to read something, then back up to use the menu, the menu appears with a big space between the word Forums and the menu.  When the mouse goes into that space, the menu disappears, so it is impossible to use the menu.  I am adding a screenshot to show what I mean. Â
Â
I also discovered (while trying to add said screenshot) that when I hit the image button to add an image to my post, the whole screen greyed out, but the image choosing box was not on the screen. Â I scrolled waaaaaaay up and eventually found it appeared from the BOTTOM of the screen as I scrolled UP. Â Then after adding the photo I have to scroll way back down to see the post editor again. Â I am using the post editor at the bottom of the thread. Â Weird. Â
Â
I have Windows 7 and Chrome 7.0.517.44 (up to date).
Â

I just want to let everyone know that if your question is not answered right away you are not being ignored, we are around but might not necessarily be on this thread immediately. Please feel free to post and an Administrator will come and respond when they can.

Is there any way that somebody can post the list of known issues that have been reported by many users, plus the status of each? It would be nice to know if somebody is looking at it to fix it now, or it is on the list for the future, or if it is staying the way it is.
Â
That might help reduce the # of duplicate posts.
Â
Common issues seem to be: PM's, hovering, back-button, subscriptions. (I am sure other people can add to the list)
Â
Thanks!!
Â
---------------------------------------------------------
ETA ... okay, I just saw Georgia's summary. But I still have not seen an answer for Hovering and Backbutton issues. Are those being looked at, or are they AS IS? Thanks!!
Â
Hovering issue: Can't see the first sentence when hovering over the post title in Recent Activity.
Â
Back button issue:Â After clicking on and reading a post, the back button brings you to the top of the page, rather than the last post you clicked on.
Â
Thanks!!

I'm on Windows with Explorer, if that is pertinent.
Â
When I click on a thread title in "subscriptions" (straight there from the "homepage") it takes me to the last unread post sometimes, but not every time. There doesn't seem to be a rhythm to it (although I am sure there is SOMETHING that makes the difference).
Â
Firefox on a Mac. I have the same issue, and lately it's taking me to 1.5 posts above the last unread post.
Â
Beta Activity Feed: If I page down with the More tab at the bottom to get the next 20, read one of those threads, then hitting the back button takes me back to activity feed with just posts 1-20 on it, not the additional ones below it I'd already accessed. This makes the Activity Feed pretty useless for how I use it. Sticking to the 4 day old "classic" version. :wink

I posted in the other thread, but I don't think it was addressed completely?
Â
Anyway, I'm having trouble starting new paragraphs at random times. Like just now I posted in the Parenting forum, and had to write one long paragraph, b/c I couldn't start a new paragraph. I can't in Single Parenting either, and I don't know where else since thats usually where I go.
Â
It's working here, so its not my computer.
Â
I'm using a Mac, and Firefox. I know my mac is up to date, but I have no clue about firefox.Â
Â
Thanks!
Â
ETA - it just worked on the single parenting board, but I'm having trouble still in other places - is it just happening randomly and the kinks need to be fully worked out??
Not directed only at you as I saw this a lot on the last thread too....
Mac is not your OS. There are different versions (that can all up up to date on their own) just like Windows has XP, VIsta, and 7. You OS is going to be 10.4 (Tiger... to be precise, 10.4.11 would be up to date here), 10.5 (Leopard....10.5.8 is up to todate) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard.... 10.6.4 is utd. This will change, the other two won't.) Of course, there are earlier versions of both platforms but so few people are running them that I won't list them, unless specifically asked. You can see what your is by going to your  menu>About this Mac and see what it lists.
Â
As far as checking your browser version, go to your Firefox/Safari/whatever browser you are using Menu (directly to the right of your  menu) > about (Safari/Firefox/whatver browser you are using). Safari 5.0.2 is utd currently and FF is 3.6.12 I believe.

no :nana??? NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
nana is my favourite all time smilie. mostly because it's a nice shade of green. any chance of getting a nice green-toned :raz ? Any chance of getting a reprieve for nana? a good behaviour bond? bail?
Â
oh and it is Monday... but I'll continue to be patient because I live in the future.
Â
Â
ETA: is there some way to change the multiquote feature so that you can select all the posts one wants and then click "reply" rather than having to click "quote"? I usually start reading through a thread, clicking the "multi" as I go on the posts I want to reply to, but I can't tell when the last one will be, so when I get to the end, I'm clicking "quote" on the last post just to get to the reply box, even if I don't want to quote that post. then I delete the bit I didn't need. It's a do-able workaround, but still annoying.

I don't understand how they can be unread posts since my last visit. For example, in this thread:
http://www.mothering.com/community/forum/thread/1277618/zero-stranger-anxiety-is-this-normal#post_16025369
I was the 10th person to comment. There are 20 comments total. Yet the red box under the title of that thread in "My Recent Activity" has the number 20. When I last visited the thread there were 15 responses. If the red box was indicating the number of posts since I last visited the thread, it would be 5. But it isn't that, it's 20. If it was showing the number of unread posts since I commented, the number would be 10, but it isn't.
zinemama, I have been having the same issue, and I thought maybe it was my math skills. It seems the issue here is that when we transitioned over from vBulletin to Huddler, the read v. unread v. how many posts unread status was not preserved. Essentially, the counts of how many posts which are new since the last time you visited have to start over since the conversion. In the Zero Stranger Anxiety thread, the thread began before the switch, and you had posted the10th post before the conversion. After the conversion, it was counting all of the posts in the thread as unread because you hadn't yet visited it on the new site. It's confusing, but the numbers should start reflecting accurate counts as members begin to read threads on the new system. I apologize for the confusion.

Sometimes when I multiquote, the quote appears after my comment....not every time, just sometimes.

of birth in "my profile" in order to change my email address.
That problem occurred in Safari v5.0.2 and Firefox v1.5.0.3. I'm using
a MacBook with Mac OS X v10.6.4.
Can you describe the technical difficulties a bit more? What happens when you try to submit the new information? Is there an error message?
our signatures, but that isn't currenlty a possibility. Will this be
worked in at a later time? I miss my colorful siggy
And everyoneelse's, as well.
The explanation is that more formatting options, readability tends to decrease with lots of colors, alignment, sizes, etc. We realize there's a trade-off. Everyone now has the ability to personalize their username with a custom avatar and the ability to have three lines of signature text, unlimited smilies and the ability to feature galleries, lists, reviews, etc. Members will still be able to give their signatures a personal flair while still maintaining good readability for the most number of users. I'm really sorry to not be able to offer the colorful signature but this isn't something that is going to offered at this point in time.
This has been reported to the development team. Thanks for letting us know.
I think I understand the issue here. Is it that the browser back button takes you to the top of the page rather than the last place in the page you were looking at?
Can you please explain a bit more about what you are asking?
I know that the display of subscribed forums is not we are used to. In the activity feed display, the new software pulls in all the new threads from these forums into the feed so users can scan through all of that content with all the rest of their specific thread subscriptions as well. What you would like is a customized view of the forum index to see which of your favorite forums have new context so you can navigate there?
There's one more additional work around for the Firefox cursor bug - if you click into Source mode, and then click back to WYSIWYG mode, the cursor should reappear. This is one we're working on to hack around until Firefox fixes the bug. Until then, we would recommend trying out the BB Code Editor as it should be a lot less finicky for most browsers. I'm using BB Code, and I no longer have frequent posting problems. You can switch back and forth fairly easily if you need to post video or format. Please see my thread here.
to choose which smilies
appear to the right of the compose message box? That would be amazing.
We don't have the ability to do this on a per-user basis at the moment, but we do have some ability to customize the smilies that appear for everyone. This might mean losing the larger smilies though. We can take a look at the most popularly used smilies and then go from there.
change it so they don't take up a a third of the page for the first half and then nothing for the
second? Could they be moved to the bottom or a separate forum or something? They're just visually
distracting and really bothering me.
"I also have a forum issue. I want to subscribe to a few forums, like
I used to, but when I
click on subscriptions it lists out ALL the threads from everything
I've subscribed including the
new threads from the subscribed forums- so it isn't really what I
wanted. There's an option for
'lists' but I don't know what that does- and it doesn't list the forums.
Is there going to be a way like in the old UserCP where I can go to
just see my subscribed
forums?"
In terms of lists, we think you might be looking at the lists on the user profile. That is a different feature than subscriptions.
The edit button, particularly in the first post of my DDC roster,
shoots me down to the bottom of
the page and does not open the edit window, the first time I click it.
Uber-annoying. Then I
scroll way back up to the top and click it a second time and it works.
Is this on editing a post? When a user defaults to using the Quick Reply editor (the one at the bottom of a thread page) by default rather than the full page editor (which loads on a new page), clicking the Edit button will bring you down to the bottom of the page as the editor flips from reply to edit. If you would like to load the full editor each time on a new page, rather than load the editor at the bottom of the thread page, we would recommend selecting that preference from Account Details (which is reached via the My Profile tab at the top). This will avoid the long scroll.
Another PM problem I just ran into. I was sending out bday PM's and
the first one went through no problem but the second time I get the message "argument "body" was
specified empty" here is the screenshot. The text body is highlighted due to me trying c&p but it
does the same thing when it isnt highlighted. I always c&p the bday text instead of typing it over
and over. Oh and while I am thinking about it the Happy Birthday in the subject box never gets
remembered like all the other things I type. It does remember it when I am typing in a subject
box for a post just not in PM. I cant send a PM at all now so maybe it is a issue because of
working with the board?
So this is from the Private Message center?

The Edit Post button opens the editor in the Quick Editor at the bottom of the page. It sounds like sometimes the page focus isn't working as well as other times. If it's really annoying, you can select to default to the Full Page Editor each time (via My Profile tab's Account Details area) which will open the editor on a new page.
Thanks, Honey693, that's definitely nice to hear.

I think I understand the issue here. Is it that the browser back button takes you to the top of the page rather than the last place in the page you were looking at?
?
That is correct. If you click the "Back" button you are taken to the very top of the page rather than back to where you were actually at on the page. It makes it very difficult to navigate back and forth. Especially for the pages that are long and you are on the middle to lower part, go forward, then click "Back". Very, Very annoying!

Oh, you know what i just noticed about quoting... in the old forum it would typically quote who the quote was from. It seems to be all over the place- sometimes there are names, and sometimes not.Â
It seems I'm always clicking the wrong box anyways... I have to remember to hit "quote" and not reply... but I think of 'reply' as in that I'm going to make a 'reply' the the post I am hitting the reply button on.... but it moves me down to the bottom of the page and then I have to go back up and find the post I was on.... but I'll get used to that (I hope). I often don't really want to quote something, but I like to keep the post I'm reading in view...  Does the forum 'thread' post by how they are 'replied' to?  (I actually cannot process threaded forums like that (typically) so I usually default to a different view-style- but I was just curious how it works).
Â
Also, I think this happened on the old forum too, but sometimes if it is a quote of a quote, then the quote space is blank- but this time, it actually reserves the space with no text there (so the blank space actually varies, which seems silly to not have the text there if it remembers how much text was there.
Now, that could just be the nature of how things are working right now, or how one is setting up the quoting, but I know it has made my head spin when I'm not quite sure who is quoting what and I think an issue might be useful to me. I can't go back and see what the original post is to see what it was in reference to when the user name isn't there
Â
And, just so you know, I wish I remembered what the nana smilie was like! Of course our Nana lives on in our memories and has always been a very wonderful intelligent and sweet person... but nana also can sound more like what my daughter calls nursing- so I don't know what kind of nana has been sentenced... Poor smilie- I'm sure there must be a remedy for that(-;
Â
Thanks,
Jessica
