In the old format, I could easily browse through the forums and tell which forums had new posts since my last visit, as they were bolded while forums with no new content where not. Then when you entered the forum, the new post titles where bolded and the ones with no new posts were not. This made browsing easier. Is there a way to set this up in the new format? Right now I cant tell if anything has new content short of opening it up and looking. And I can't tell which threads have new content vs which have none. I don't want to have to reply or subscribe to every thread, I just want to know what is new. Is there a way to do this?

I think you'll find the answer to your question in the Discussion Forum Tutorial Wiki located here.Â

Here's a C&P:

Also, for sub-forums, I just noticed that the subforums for finding your tribe have no icons even if you enter the finding your tribe forum. It would be nice if there was a` way to tell if they had new content without opening them.

When a thread has new content in it, it is supposed to have the colored icon along with a bolded title. Unlike vBulletin, the software does not mark a forum as read if you enter it but do not look at all the threads. If there is new content in it at all, the icon remains colored. Users can always click that icon though or mark all forums read if they would like to start fresh and not have any old content tripping the "new content" icon. Have you tried clearing your computer's cache? I apologize for the problems you're encountering.

I have to say I love this aspect of the new board. I would get really annoyed if things were marked before even though I hadn't actually read them. This is a big board and sometimes I get pulled away from my computer before I get through the forums that interest me.
Thank you for your help!- Cynthia Mosher
