Cannot wrap my head around this...could there be two in there??

I feel like I'm going crazy.  Ever since I was about 12 weeks along, I've intuitively felt that I'm carrying twins.  I couldn't quite explain it, especially because my fundal height has always been within the range of normal for singletons and the morning sickness and exhaustion wasn't all that different from what I experienced with my son, although both of those started sooner and lasted quite a bit longer.  But there was nothing that screamed, "YES!!  There are two!!"  I still couldn't shake that feeling, though.  I had an ultrasound done at 20 weeks and only one baby showed up on the screen.  You'd think that would end the twin feeling, but now here I am at 25 weeks and I stilll can't shake it.  Now it's not only intuition but also the fact that this baby has kicked A LOT more than my son ever did, and he definitely wasn't that calm in utero.  I also started feeling kicks at 11 weeks along...3 or 4 weeks earlier than I did with my son.  Not only that but I feel it all over the place...

This leads me to my question: Is it possible for one baby at 25 weeks to kick in the lower left part of the uterus (near my hip bone) while ALSO kicking or punching in the upper right side (near my ribs)?  It seems to me like it would be too far of a stretch, but I could be wrong.  Any and all insights are greatly appreciated thumb.gif

A 25-week fetus is over 13 inches long, on average. So, I think the answer is yes.

I could feel mine on both sides at about 23 weeks.  I'm still not sure where all his body parts are because he keeps turning left and right to kick the whole upper half of my uterus.

Yes  - I even asked my midwife and she said it's the position. DD never kicked like this one, but she said if they are back to your back, then the limbs can be spread out and kicking in 4 places. Honestly I thought the baby was transverse because I felt a lot in my side, then felt them under my ribs. I thought I had twins or the baby was laying sideways.

I am sure the u/s would show two by now. My two move at the same time there is movement in all four corners of the belly, so to speak, at the same time. So you would surely feel this. It is possible for one to be moving at the bottom and top stretched across at one time, but if you are feeling left and right rib jabs and left and right pelvic jabs at the same time, two is in there for sure. It is a crazy party in my tummy 24/7!!!!!!!!!!

With my twins, by 25 weeks the movement was slowing down a lot because they were starting to run out of room in there. The kicks and punches were less noticable and it felt more like shifting and pushing going on in there. They also felt like an octopus... there was movement EVERYWHERE.

With #3, he can punch my cervix and kick my ribs HARD at 26 weeks.... he's got lots of room to really pack a punch.

It would have been really obvious on an ultrasound if there was more than one in there. It always amazed me that the u/s tech could tell each baby apart, there were legs and hands all over the place.
