Madmag, Geomag, and other magnet building sets

I just bought dd a set of Madmag, a magnet building set similar to Geomag.  Does anyone know if it is compatible with other sets such as Geomag?

A quick google search found a site that indicates that madmag and geomag are not entirely compatible because the parts are slightly different lengths.
