That is interesting. I understand some of the negativity, but I hope that being gifted isn't the educational death sentence they made it out to be. We are new to this gifted business, and my ds is only 4, so my experience and knowledge on the topic are quite limited.

Lol.  I had the same thought, although we are further in the process in that our children are older than yours.  I've actually seen a lot of articles as of late that make "gifted" out to be a really negative thing.

There's a fair bit of info in the articles.  I found the teacher interview article interesting (today's article), but found the chat transcript from a couple of days ago painful as one of the "experts" was pretty offensive IMO.
