Is it normal to be this exhausted when I'm almost done?

I know exhaustion is normal in the first trimester. I dealt with that. I've dealt with being "tired" my entire pregnancy. (Chasing a toddler does that)

I hit 30 weeks on Friday and it seems to have opened a whole new book of exhaustion. Yesterday I woke up so exhausted I felt SICK. I ended up taking a nap a few hours after waking up. I had been busy the day before so I assumed I just over-did it. Yesterday was a lazy day.

Today I woke up feeling THE SAME WAY. I'm brewing coffee as I type because I can't be this bad and take care of my toddler (DH was home yesterday)

I thought I was supposed to get a nesting energy surge these last few months? I was kind of looking forward to that.

I'm still waiting for my nesting at 37 weeks.  I have however gotten enough of my energy back not to pass out at my computer though.  I guess it helps that I just don't move anymore unless I absolutely have to.  I don't have a toddler though.

You should get your iron checked.  Mine was really low and I think that was part of why I was so exhausted.  Now I'm taking Floradix.  I don't know if its the iron helping or just a different part of pregnancy but I like to think its the iron.

I feel tired now like I haven't the whole time cept for maybe a few weeks right near the beginning.
I even had them recheck my iron levels to make sure I was getting enough, for me they were fine so I can't blame that. I certainly have good days and way slower ones.
If I were you I would get my iron checked. How is your BP and do you ever check your blood gas O2? that's the little censor that slips over a fingernail. That ones interesting, specially after how out of breath you been feeling.

Do you feel like you are getting restful sleep when you are asleep?

My BP is LOW...but that's genetic. My mother has an incredibly low BP (my pulse and BP are so low that when I used to donate blood they always asked if I was an athlete...I'm not) My MW checked my CBC at my last appointment. I'll contact her and see if it said anything about my RBCs. I've never checked my blood gas O2...

On sleep: HAHAHAHAHAHA I have chronic insomnia (my whole life...seriously) so I've never had "restful sleep" as far as I know. Right now my hips ache so bad when I lay down (no matter where I sleep, how I sleep, or what I try) that I wake up every so often. It's insane.

Between low BP and trouble sleeping no wonder you feel so tired, I'm sorry.

With the increase demand on blood volume you have in the 3rd trimester, that low BP must really get yucky. I'm sure you have heard this a million times, just make sure you ingest tons of electrolites to help you hold onto water and put it to good use. In addition to sodium, make sure to include potassium and magnesium rich stuff too.

Sorry bout the hip, I've been pinching something in my SI joint at the rear of my hip, making my jump when I walk, but has not been too overly fussy when sleeping, fingers crossed.

I haven't heard that, actually! With my last pregnancy I retained so much water my ankles would swell to the point of my toes going numb...so I've been careful to avoid extra salt this time around...maybe that was a mistake.

I would test it out if I were you, low Curculation which my mom and grandma have real bad can be the culprit of that more than just retaining water. Some mild compression socks and good foot massage might deal with anything that pops up. Getting your bp up a tad might move more oxygen around your body and really impact the way you feel, it's certainly worth testing out.

Water without the also consuming the main electrolytes does very little good in terms on hydration, your body needs one to use the other.

So basically I need to invest in Gatorade and see if it helps? :lol

I just heard from my MW. She said my iron levels are great and my GLUCOSE levels were low! I did a tolerance test and had a fruit smoothie (like almost 100g of glucose) and tested 2 hours later. She said to try eating every 2 hours.

At least I'm not gestational diabetic...

well that explains a lot!

yeah more eating lady, and good complex carbs are a smoother way to give your body glucose fuel than sweet things. and protein helps smooth out the highs and lows so you don't have crashes of low energy. they are best when always paired

as for the water and such, still a very god idea, Gatorade is very high sugar so not always the best, but the concept is correct. Coconut water is a great source for a quick drink, but also just to eat foods with those electrolytes in them. potassium is found in many fruits, papaya, mango and banana is three at the top of the list magnesium is found in nuts and leafy greens, almonds are great, plus they have good protein and EFA's in them

My appetite has been really low this pregnancy...so sometimes I forget to eat.

I thought Powerade was high sugar and Gatorade was high salt? Hmm...I wonder if there's a natural one at Whole Foods. Is coconut water good? I've never had it

i would probably say both are high both, i drink them somtimes in the sumer when im in the desert and do it cut 50/50 with water.

but there are ones that are quite a bit better. yeah coconut water (not "juice" or "milk") is wonderful! some brands taste better than others, im a junkie for it, it is my go to when im feeling wiped out in the summer or dehydrated. i figure it will be goto during labor as well. i have heard of a few ladies around here doing that.

For achy hips, try a chiro!  I see my chiro at least once a week for the last trimester (less often in the second).  Especially if you are chasing--and carrying!--a toddler, you need some chiro help.  My chiro also knows Webster, so she's helping me keep BabySister in the best position.

Hope you feel energized soon.

Chiro isn't covered by my insurance...and, while he gives us an awesome price ($30), I can only afford to go once a month unless it's an emergency. I WISH I could go weekly!
