just have a couple questions for you guys though, the eggs are small and kinda pale, I assume it's just b/c it's there first ones but are these good to eat still? also do we wash them before using them? thanks!

My experience has been that eggs from backyard hens are just smaller than storebought. Not sure if they start out very small and then get somewhat bigger--I got my hen when it was already laying. I only wash the eggs if there is poop on it, otherwise I'll just brush any dirt off with a dishtowel.

ENJOY! Home raised eggs taste soooooo much better than storebought. I had no idea!

I read not to wash them as there is a bacteria inhibitor on the egg. I wash off poopy eggs. My eggs started out smaller, and yes they are fine to eat.Lol,took me a few days to eat my first fresh egg.

Sometimes I get such huges eggs I can not close the egg carton! I would rather have eggs smaller, because I worry my big egg layer will prolapse.
