Looking for a hair cut/style for curly haired 3 year old

DD has very curly hair.  It is often matted and very difficult for me to maintain.  Dry it is just at the shoulders.  Wet and combed straight it is more than half way down her back.  She has asked several times if I will cut it off like Papa's hair (he doesn't have much hair these days).  After months of her asking, we have decided to find a short hair cut.  But I can't find one that would look cute on her.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  It will make her happy and my life easier!

OK I realise that this is not a kid, but how about something like this?  I reckon this would be cute on a little one and easier to maintain than longer curls.  (sorry for the long link!)
