stinky bamboo blanket

Ds's blankie is made out of some cheapo bamboo yarn I got at Hobby Lobby. He sucks on the corners. It stinks like a dirty diaper. I had been washing it monthly. That has turned into weekly and now twice a week. It seems to be stinking more and more. I wash with biokleen powder. I have tried stripping it by washing with Dawn. We have hard water and sometimes I add water softener to the load. Any ideas? I'd like to keep it natural as he puts it in his mouth.

Vinegar or Bac-Out, or both maybe.

Do you think that will help the stink stay away? Washing usually freshens it up, but the stench returns. Anyway, thanks! I have all of those things and will give them a whirl.
