HE DID IT!!!!!! - Page 2

Just wanted to send you vibes of patience and encouragement! And totally NO flames for bribing, that's what I do with DD and it works a treat! We did have to switch from chocolate to crackers, though, because it worked so well it was ruining her teeth! Nowadays "you need to go to the potty before we can do X" (crafts, going for a walk etc) works just as well, too.

Eh, pooping is a toughie! What worked for us what to have "poo stickers" in the bathroom. She knew they were there and would ask for one. I would tell her she could have one after the pooped in the potty or toilet. I also tried other small prizes. For a while we had a Poo Rhino, Poo Oryx and a Poo Tiger waiting for her on the shelf. We also focussed on telling her that she needed to keep her underpants clean and did constant checks - " are your pants still clean? Yaaaaaay! Tell me when you need to poo and we will do it on the toilet to keep your nice underpants clean!"

DD also likes privacy and I give her a magazine and shut the door. She rarely tells us she needs to poo but will tell us she needs to pee but then ask for a magazine and to shut the door. Guess where she got that one from. eyesroll.gif

This might be totally random, but my mom said that one thing that worked for her (when PT'ing my brother) was that she let him pick out his favorite underwear at the store - made a reeeaaaaallllllyyyyyy big deal out how he had big boy underwear, and they were so cool, and just like daddy's, and blah blah blah.  Then encouraged him to keep them clean (but then said no when he wanted to wear them more than 1day in a row LOL!), and she said that helped.  IDK.  Hope you have a great Thanksgiving weekend!!

UPDATE*****

He did it again a couple times over the holiday long weekend.  The first time was friday at my moms office of all places!  lol  (He didnt go thursday, and neither did his brother, ummmmm, go figure) We stopped there to have lunch with my mom, I had just taken him pee, and about 5 minutes later he says MOM!  I gotta POOP.  ok honey, take him in the little single stall bathroom, close the stall door and stand by the sink with my sister (16) we hear him pushing, and I wanted to tell him again to relax, when we hear this PLOP.  Me and my sister both :-O at eachother, and he jumps of the toilet screaming MOMMY, I DID IT!!  Pants still around his ankles, still need to wipe.  I was so proud of him.  He did it again saturday before his nap, but then sunday morning at meemas, we werent quite so lucky.  I think maybe it was cuz I wasnt there?  not sure.  We will see how today goes.

So for those who have been following my journey, it certainly is one heck of a ride.  Who wants to bet that as soon as Charlie is done, it will be Matts turn?  lol
