is around 8 weeks normal time for the cervix to change to its softer state?

I was inserting my progesterone suppository last night and could not find my little insertion stick thingy they gave me (whatever it's called, LOL!) so I did it with my fingers.  I noticed that sometime in the last week or so my cervix has gone from pretty firm and small to big and soft.  I do remember this happening with my last pregnancy, but I don't remember when it happened.  And I know it happens every time but with my first couple pregnancies I wasn't aware of the ability to check your own cervix.  So is now about the right time for that?  Just curious.  :)

Thanks!  I thought it was probably about that time, but I wanted to double check!  I need to keep my hands out of there so I don't get paranoid.  redface.gif
