Thyroid issues and adrenal fatigue and pregnancy HELP!!!

After years of nobody listening to me, I found an MD who is into alternative medicine as well and has diagnosed me as subclinical hypothyroid and adrenal fatigue (which I had figured out on my own before I even went to him!) Anyway he prescribed armour thyroid and isocort and Dhea which I was going to start on and I find out Im pregnant!

He says instead of the isocort (which is not well studied in pregnancy) to take a low dose of HC (cortef) along with thr armour and for now to leave the dhea out. He says that HC is safe to use during pregnancy, that his wife took it while she was pregnant, but I just read online that it is a category C drug...Im totally freaked out now. I haven't started any of this and have another call into him to discuss more (Im rapidly becoming one of those annoying patients!).

Does anyyone here have any experience with HC during pregnany??

really nobody knows about cortisol and pregnancy?

I haven't run into that many people here taking Cortef, and I haven't taken it myself.  My HCP and I talked about it a bit, as a possibility for in the future if I didn't start feeling better (but I did), she did say that often people have a very difficult time weaning off of it.  That said--pregnancy is a big drain on your adrenals and if the two choices are do nothing or some low-dose Cortef, I may go for the latter.  You don't want high cortisol during pregnancy, that's not great for baby (though TBH, plenty of stressed out people in the US _do_ have high cortisol, so to the extent that it's comparable to them, it's probably okay enough), but with a low dose and a supportive HCP (sounds like he's used this with pregnant women before?) then, lacking other information, I'd probably go with his advice. 

I hope you find something more definitive, or at least enough to feel at ease with whatever decision you make.

I actually am miscarrying this baby, so I don't have to worry about it right now, but want to be in the position to make the best choice I can if I am lucky enough to conceive again

there is a gigantic hypothyroid thread somewhere in the recent few pages here - someone in there may have some helpful advice. The thread title is something along the lines of "hypothyroid but normal blood tests" but there are folks in there both with diagnosed thyroid problems and undiagnosed, as well as with adrenal issues.

I hope you find some answers.
