My grandmother (and possibly grandfather) has been diagnosed with a MRSA infection in a breast cancer surgery wound. greensad.gif

My 12 weeks pregnant self and 21 month old daughter were going with our whole family to visit over Thanksgiving.  I REALLY do not want to NOT go, but I need some advice for the BEST way to prevent spreading the infection to myself or my daughter.  We will not be staying at their house, but there is a slight possibility that we will have several family gatherings/meals there, and, of course, I want to see them.

The doctor says the infection is 75% cured and is sending her home with strong antibiotics, a visiting nurse, and instructions for the family to use good handwashing technique. I also have a cold. sick.gif

What should I do to keep my daughter and I healthy?  I'm thinking probiotics, nettipot cleansing, washing with tea tree oil, alcohol hand cleansers.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!
