changes in bm consistency and smell?

Okay, so my little one is just over 3 months and all of a sudden her bowel movements have changed in consistency and smell.  Over the past couple of days they have gone from watery, yellow (sometimes green) sweet smelling poops to stinky, slightly browner but still technically yellow but much thicker.  Today it was almost peanut buttery texture.  It still has the seed looking things but is different than normal.

And when she passes gas it is stinkier also.

So, is this something that normally happens?  I'm just super paranoid that daycare is giving her something other than my breastmilk.  That's crazy right? I mean, why would they give her expensive formula if I was providing free breastmilk.

I guess I want someone to put my paranoid fears at ease.  BTW, she started daycare last week.

babies do start to get thicker poo even before starting solids, but usually it's a gradual thing, the fecal matter takes longer to move through the intestines, so more water is removed. also, if she's around new people a good chunk of the day, her gut flora will change a bit to reflect that (this is probably the most likely explanation). Also, there's the possibility of your cycle starting back up, which can affect your milk composition a bit. just some other possible explanations to think about.

Also, some babies respond to different foods in your breast milk. This is not a problem, just a function of how the gut responds to the different "tastes" in your bm.

I find that my Ds's poop changes consistency when he has a growth spurt too - he poops less frequently, and more 'peanut buttery', even when he is peeing a gazillion times a day.

This is really good to know. Thanks for the info.  Now I feel less freaked out about someone feeding the kiddo.  I just kept thinking that it wouldn't start stinking or be thicker until she started to have something other than breastmilk.  My mind is now at ease. :)  Well, as much as it can be with her being in daycare.
