ERF in UK?

Anyone know if I can get an ERF car seat, like the Graco MyRide 65 shipped to the UK?  It's next to impossible to get ERF seats here, and those few there are, are exorbitantly expensive - I'm talking c. £500, which we just can't afford.  Even with shipping to Europe I'd imagine the Graco would work out much cheaper.

Anyone done this? Or knows anything about it?

Look into the Swedish seats.  Those would be legal in the UK (US seats would not be).  http://www.carseat.se/

Yeah, those are the ones that cost £500.  I really can't be the only one that thinks that's a crazy price to pay for a car seat!

TBH, I don't really care if the US seats are legal here or not, as long as they fit in the car and work.  It's not like a police officer is really going to know whether or not a car seat is legal or not if they stop me anyway - they'll just be glad the kid is in some kind of seat.

That's interesting - when I looked at those seats from a British supplier they were charging £500 for one, but I've just clicked on the webshop link and they're up to half that price on there! (Though still 2-4x more expensive than the mainstream seats available here - how annoying is that?)

But thanks for the link!  I might just have to see if I can get some contributions towards these for the girls for Christmas.

We have the BeSafe one because I wanted isofix.  It was £280 IIRC.  However, for £160 you can go to a Volvo dealership and they sell a rebranded Britax one (even if you don't have a volvo)!  If I had known this before we would have gotten the volvo one!

Oh, wow - that sounds fantastic!! I'd love the isofix, but our car is too old for it and we won't be buying a new car anytime soon, so that would be pointless :lol  Do you have a link or contact info for the Volvo thing? (And do you happen to know which Britax ones?)

Now I'm confused - I just rang up the local Volvo dealership and they said they'd never heard of such a thing!! :(

You might have to call the dealership in Shrewsbury and have them talk to your local dealership:).

I contacted Volvo head office and TBH they were really unhelpful.  After much pressing I finally got the guy to admit that they did stock ERF seats, but he completely refused to tell me what type they were, or what price.  He also didn't seem to want to sell to me since I don't actually own a Volvo. If there were a dealership in town I'd just go in and see what they have, but the nearest one is the next town over - so 30 minutes or so drive each way, which I don't really fancy doing only to discover it was a wasted trip - and I obviously can't call ahead since they're refusing to give me any kind of info.  I'm less than impressed... :eyesroll

I'll have to keep looking...
