From EC to "potty training"

Thread Starter

I started a thread about a month ago saying that I quit EC. And I did. I'm now debating not offering AT ALL. She's been wet since early afternoon, and I just don't care.

I'm TIRED, and at the end of my rope. I thought for sure that since we started so young (4 months) that she would be done by now (26 months). What would you do? Or what have you done?

I think that if I were at that stage, that I would do what daycare centers and the like do and change her every 2 hours, plus poopy diapers.

Leave her potty some place it's readily spotted by her, but isn't in your face, like under a table in a corner near some toys or something.

<<:hug>> I keep hoping to see a better update from you.

As for the potty learning, that tends to be all about getting the kid excited instead of scared of using the potty. You could try getting videos/books from the library, but really, she already knows what the potty is, what it's for, all that good stuff.

DD likes the Japanese ones about Shimajiro and his "toire". They're fairly clear and don't have any emphasis on wearing diapers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwmGVhkShl8&feature=related seems to be particularly helpful since the day after seeing it she actually told me about needing to pee every time.
