Nojo Baby Sling

Thread Starter
Product name: Nojo Baby Sling

Brief description of product: Sling with padded rails

Store/Site of purchase: Burlington Coat Factory

Price: $30 ish

How long have you used this product? 2+ years

Fit/Sizing: OSFA (or IMO, OSFNone)

Performance: Bah, not so well. The material kind of smothers the baby, yet at the same time, the material isn't long enough for a good kangaroo carry or hip carry. I didn't feel safe with this sling because the rails are not independently adjustable.... so I couldn't get teh top rail tight enough. I have used it with my 3yo nephew and my 15mo dd (several times in her life). It is the least-used sling that I own. I found nursing in it to be a big joke.

Would you purchase this product again? Only if I was tied down and forced to

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? If yes, please provide details of any resolution or lack thereof

Product name: NoJo Baby sling

Brief description of product: a sling with rings and padded rails

Store/Site of purchase: I received it as a gift

Price: Around $30

How long have you used this product? I only used it 2 months before I sold it

Fit/Sizing: It fit horribly on me. I am tall and thin and this sling was too big on me, even on its smallest setting

Performance: I hated this sling. I never could get it to fit correctly and my son didn't seem to like it either. It was hard to use and very bulky

Workmomship: n/a

Customer Service/Communication: n/a

Would you purchase this product again? No way!

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? If yes, please provide details of any resolution or lack thereof - n/a

Additional Comments: Definitely TRY this sling before you buy it, to see if you like it. Otherwise, stay away and try one of the other slings available

Product name: NoJo Baby sling

Brief description of product: a very padded ring sling

Store/Site of purchase: Babies R Us

Price: $35.00 or so

How long have you used this product? I used it for about 3 months with my second baby.

Fit/Sizing: Terrible. This sling has an engineering problem in that the padding on the outer rail comes up too far, so that it can never be properly tightened. In general, the sizing runs large to begin with.

Performance: Not good. With a newborn who likes the cradle carry and doesn't mind being down in the fabric, it doesn't seem that bad, although it took me a month to figure out how to get him in a position he'd tolerate. But once he got bigger, it was hard to do any other positions because the outer rail was always so loose. And it's just so bulky and hot. Yuk!

Price: $-

How long have you used this product? tried it with all 3 of my kids, sucked each time

Fit/Sizing: Couldnt get the rings tight enough, and when I did, they'd slip and she'd be hanging to my knees. Way to bulky.

Performance: The rings always slid, couldnt adjust the top rail so it always felt very flimsy, and carrying on the hip seemed to be dangerous with the top rail so loose.

Nojo

Product name: Nojo "Dr. Sears" Baby SLing

Brief description of product: Mega Padded ring sling

Store/Site of purchase: Ebay

Price: don't remember

How long have you used this product? about a year

Fit/Sizing: not very good

Performance: not good

Workmomship:good

Customer Service/Communication:n/a

Would you purchase this product again?

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? n/a If yes, please provide details of any resolution or lack thereof

Additional Comments: There was way too much padding in this sling. I also don't like the tail idea of it. The shoulder cap was just too much fabric and just a poorly designed sling. I bought this becuase it was a "dr. Sears" product and it was just the most difficult sling to adjust. I never felt like I could get a snug enough fit. It's good for older babies 1 year and up. When you don't need as snug of a fit. I just think if they didn't have the tail and made it more like the maya it would be better.

Product name: NOJO sling

Brief description of product: mass-produced, padded, closed-tail ring sling

Store/Site of purchase: borrowed from midwife

Price: n/a

How long have you used this product? I used it for 2 days, which was more than enough!

Fit/Sizing: I agree with kimberlylibby, one size fits none

Performance: Poor. Although the padding is not as huge, the shoulder not as poofy and the overall look not as goofy as the OTSBH, there are still major design flaws with this sling. I couldn't get my 3-month-old any higher than flapping around near my waist. The padding prevented any real ability to customize the fit, or contour the fabric snugly around baby's body. The rings made any adjustment a struggle. I also don't think the much-trumpeted "safety bar" at the end of the tail makes much sense, since if the sling has slipped out of the rings all the way down to the end of the tail, baby more than likely has fallen out already!

Workmomship: factory made

Customer Service/Communication:n/a

Would you purchase this product again? No, and I warn first-time babywearers away from it, and I hear many stories that this type of sling turned other people off babywearing as well.

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? If yes, please provide details of any resolution or lack thereof n/a

Brief description of product:ring sling with light padding

Store/Site of purchase: BabiesRus
Price:

How long have you used this product? 1yr

Fit/Sizing: it fit me fine

Performance:

Would you purchase this product again? not now that I know of more options

Additional Comments: I bought this sling with my first since it was cheaper price than the OTSBH. It worked for me and introduced me to slinging. I think if I had gone with the OTSBH the padding would have overwelmed me. After my baby got heavy over 18lbs it was not as comfy.

Additional Comments: This was my first try at babywearing and it really set me back. I still have a fear of ring slings! My daughter was overwhelmed in the fabric and never felt secure. the sling is not as adjustable as most and is to heavily padded to try to nurse.

Product name:
nojo baby sling
Brief description of product: ring sling recommended by dr sears

Store/Site of purchase:

Price:

How long have you used this product? 7 months

Fit/Sizing: never felt comfortable

Performance:
i liked the sling when baby was newborn. Has nice padded edges. I wrapped her in it in the hospital at night so she could sleep with me in the narrow hospital bed. Also, it is a quick thing to throw her in if I have to for a few minutes. But after that, it HURTS. Plus, you can't wear it on your back, so it is never handsfree.
Workmomship:
mass manufactured. good quality
Customer Service/Communication:

Would you purchase this product again? A sling is good for a newborn and brief situations. But for real baby wearing/ for work/cooking, it is just terrible. Still, I will keep mine around for emergencies or the next newborn.

Product name: Nojo Sling

Brief description of product: Padded adjustable ring sling

Store/Site of purchase: Purchased but I forget which store

Price: Around $35

How long have you used this product? A few months

Fit/Sizing: Okay, but I'm small, so I don't know if it would fit someone bigger

Performance: It worked okay

Workmomship: doesn't apply

Customer Service/Communication:n/a

Would you purchase this product again? Nope.

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? N/A

Additional Comments: This was my first attempt at a sling. It was hard to adjust the top rail tight enough because of the padding and so it didn't fit well for baby & I. I went back to a Snugli (eek!) after this and kinda gave up - until I discovered wahm slings!

Brief description of product: Padded adjustable ring sling

Store/Site of purchase: yard sale

Price: $2
How long have you used this product? About a week

Fit/Sizing: It seems to fit me well since I'm plus sized

Performance: Better than the koala by prince lionheart sling I have

Workmomship: doesn't apply

Customer Service/Communication:n/a

Would you purchase this product again? Probably for the price, I dont think I'll be able to use it for a long time though so it wouldnt be worth paying a high price for

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? N/A

Additional Comments: I had it on wrong at first and I wonder if that's why so many people have complaints. It was killing my back when I had it on wrong and the padding was overwhelming my 2 month old baby. Once I got it positioned right we both enjoy it. It does feel a tad bulky and there isn't much room for my 2 month old to cradle in so I don't think it will last long. I'm considering getting an unpadded ring sling now like the maya. I like the concept of a sling, this one just has some problems.

Product name: NoJo Baby sling

Brief description of product: a sling with rings and padded rails

Store/Site of purchase: Bought it from Target Online-wanted to *try* a RS (was already wearing son in an Onbuhimo and wide blanket Podaegi)

Price: $39.99

How long have you used this product? I used it a handful of times before I destroyed it for the fabric.

Fit/Sizing: It fit me pretty well, but it was just frustrating to use, its very bulky both when worn and when folded up. Its a bit hard to adjust comfortably becos of the bulk.

Performance: I hated this sling. I never could get it to fit correctly and my son didn't seem to like it either. It was hard to use and very bulky
