Breastmilk for eye infection? With thrush?

I gave birth this past Saturday to a baby boy! Unfortunately, baby has an eye infection. I know breastmilk in the eyes is helpful, but I also suspect we may have thrush, and I don't know if I can put breastmilk with thrush in it in the eyes, anyone know more about this? Thanks!

Is this your first baby?  Is it possible that your child's tear ducts are blocked?  That can make the eyes look gunky.  Warm wet washcloth to gently wipe away any goop, massage of the tear ducts to help them open up...

 

I have no knowledge about if it would be bad to do since you have thrush, but I'd venture to guess that if you are dealing with thrush and gunky eyes and your baby is just a week old that it might be best for you to contact a health care provider so they can help you sort things out.
