Apparently, the number of infant deaths as a result of circumcision complications is about the same as the number of male infant deaths due to SIDS:

When I was researching, the number I read was closer to 1/100,000 (still too high), but this source estimates more like 9/100,000. It makes sense to me that in order for doctors and hospitals to protect themselves, that some circumcision complication deaths might be recorded as due to "infection" or "bleeding" while ignorning the underlying cause.

I believe it. There is no way I'd trust doctors to be truthful in all circumstances

I think the study only considered SIDS numbers for the first month(?)

It certainly wasn't saying circ deaths were higher than SIDs deaths up to age of 2.

There have been cases of circumcised infants getting MRSA where doctors couldn't even link the event of circumcision with MRSA infection. Clearly in such cases, if the boy dies circumcision won't be blamed. Circ is so common, some doctors don't event think of it as surgery.
