Homebirth Midwife in/near Fremont, California?

I'm due at the end of July. Anyone have recommendations for a midwife who will do homebirths in Fremont? What's the average cost for prenatal and homebirth services?

You could try Mason Cornelius of Nova Midwifery ( http://www.novamidwifery.com/ ).  It was more than three years ago that she was my midwife so I don't know how far she travels these days but she's not too far from Fremont.

I loved having Mason as my midwife and would recommend her :)

I don't remember how much she charged but my insurance at the time reimbursed most (all?) of her fees.  I want to say that it was in the $5000 range (? Maybe??)

If she does not travel out that far, she may know if there are any midwives in your area. I hope that you are able to find a midwife that is a good fit for you! :)

I think Awakening Birth Services goes down there.

I'm birthing with them in March and my fee is $4,500; they are two licensed midwives and they both go to every birth.

I interviewed with Mason who works with a midwife in Danville, an't remember her name at the moment and I think they charges $4000 or $4,200.

Hope that helps and congratulations!

I called Mason at Nova. I was outside her range, but she gave me an excellent reference. I believe she's based out of Pleasanton. I'm paying about $4,000, including some minimal lab work.
