Fetascope and stethescopes...

I was wondering, does my fetascope suck if I can barely here my OWN heartbeat when I tried putting it there just to see?

Do I need to get something else? Would I be better off with a stethescope? Which fetascope or stethescope have you all used successfully to find the heartbeat on your own?

I used the $14 ebay fetoscope and it worked great from 20 weeks onward... now, the room had to be SILENT for me to hear it just about, LOL.

The baby's heartbeat was a tad louder than mine actually, and the placenta was REALLY loud. With a regular stethoscope I found that my heartbeat was louder than the baby's. Not sure what the differences in construction are that caused this, but that was my experience.
