Blowing noses.

how old were your kids when they learned to actually blow their noses.  DS is 4 3/4 yo, and he still wont even try.  It is driving me batty listening to him snort it back up when ever he is at all stuffed up.

All four of my kids were around 2 when they were able to blow their noses. My 5 in January daughter is able to totally clear her nose easily and independently when she is congested

2-3.  I think it depends on the kid though.

Ugh, I'm with you, eepster! My DD blew when she was 2, all proud of the accomplishment, but now, forget it, she's over the accomplishment aspect and she refuses to blow unless she's forced to do so when I just can't take the snorting anymore! It's gross! In the same boat here. angry.gif

My son just started doing it a couple of months ago. (he's 8! LOL)

Around his 5th birthday.  He has a speech disorder though so it was kind of hard for me to get him to understand to blow OUT. pinktongue.gif

DD1 is six, and still can't. Well, to be accurate, she WON'T. I think she could if she'd try.

DD2 can, but ineffectively-- she's 3 1/2.

DS is also 3 1/2, and learned to blow his nose before he even turned two.

Yes, this bugged me, too!  DS finally learned to blow his nose when we were practicing exhaling through the nose for swimming: we taught him to blow out a candle by blowing through his nose.  He's 5.
