Due Soon... with a cold

Ahh!!  Sore throat, runny nose, no cough.  I'm pretty sure its just a regular cold.  I'm 'due' in 2 weeks though and really don't want to pass it to the baby when he's born.  How can I get rid of it (or at least no longer be contagious) faster without spending a fortune?  I upped my vitamin D when I noticed the sore throat to 10,000 IU (I don't know my current levels but I'm not an outdoorsy person) and started drinking orange juice.

I would up your Vit D even more...you can do 50,000IUs for 3 days to help get rid of it...also up your Vit C...I take about 3-5000 day.  Hot water with honey and lemon is good for a sore throat and just rest as much as possible.  I was in the same spot with my first but it cleared up before my DD was born.

Do you have a neti pot? Cleaning out your sinuses once or twice a day while you're sick will help keep bacteria at bay so this doesn't turn into a bacterial infection.

FWIW, I think it's rare for you to go into labor on your own while you're sick, so hopefully it won't be an issue anyway. :) Feel better soon!

A neti pot should help relieve some of those symptoms. Also any hot tea's can help sooth that throat . I hope you get to feeling better this time of year can be not very nice : (

I wasn't sick when I went into labor with my first, but when I came home, I came home with a horrible cold.  Luckily my baby did not catch it.  (I didn't do anything in particular to prevent him from catching it either, I just think breastfeeding really helps).  Feel better soon!

I think it may have peaked already.  The last few days I've been adding in naps too.  I always feel the worst in the morning but I'm currently not feeling the sore throat.  Maybe that pomegranate helped, lol.
