Holiday dessert that goes w pumpkin pie & pecan pie

So i just called my dad to inquire about who was bringing what for dessert on Thurs. Pumpkin pie & pecan pie are on the menu. And while the person bringing them is a make-from-scratch person, she's also a shortening/corn syrup person. So I would really like to bring something I will be comfortable eating, but at the same time it has to be dis-similar enough that i'm not stepping on any toes. So that means my previous ideas for pumpkin bread pudding, sweet potato cheesecake or pecan tarts are out.

Anyone have any suggestions/ideas? Maybe something cranberry or persimmon or pomegranate...

Mmmm cheesecake...

How about cranberry cheesecake?  Because I think it would be a darn shame to not have any cheesecake at all!

Ice cream is a great idea!! Nobody's going to complain about that!!

And i found a recipe for cranberry bars that i think i'll take too. Since i'm on cranberry sauce detail, i can just claim excess cranberries. smile.gif

How about a cranberry pear (or apple) tart? I don't have a recipe, but I had one last year at a party and it was delicious.

Ooh yes, ice cream's always good. You could do cinnamon ripple or something if you wanted to go fancier than vanilla (although vanilla's pretty awesome!).

Or chocolate brownies. Everybody likes those, right?

I just read this ice cream recipe, and thought it would be amazing with Thanksgiving pies...
