Advice needed please!!! My 17 mo old DD stopped nursing as of early Wednesday morning. We are traveling, (staying at my mom's, in a colder climate than home), about a week ago we visited friends whose kids appeared congested (visible dried mucus on their noses/faces...yuck), DD has some drool dripping from her mouth and has been occasionally chewing her fingers, and my mom has a cat. So I don't know why she is striking--allergies? Illness? Teething? I am also 11 wks pregnant. The strike was abrupt though. (want nursie? NO!!!!!)

mamas, I am sick over this. She cannot breathe through her nose well at all. I've given her hylands colic tabs, saline, suction and Baby Vicks. I bought a vaporizer. She still will not nurse. :( DH got me a manual pump because I was engorged and in pain. Any help please?? Is she weaning? She won't drink expressed milk (never has). Thanks for reading this far. :) any advice or encouragement is appreciated.

My mom keeps pushing me to give her Mucinex (?!?) or something called Sniffly Sprinkles. I can get her to take a little frozen breastmilk slushie on a spoon. And I've been giving her Hylands sniffles and sneezes tablets. She will not nurse and gets upset when I try. Did some pain from teething make her afraid? Is it the congestion? Some BTDT advice would be nice. I am so sad that we might be done. I keep suctioning so much goo out of her nose.

I keep thinking she's done for good. :( She has a strong little personality and doesn't forget things easily, so if she thinks nursing hurts (when really it was teething causing a traumatic experience) she is likely to not forget her opinion. She says "na-na-na...milk...out...help!" (nursie..milk..out..help-- meaning she wants to help me pump to get the milk out. I can nurse her baby dolls, but not MY babydoll. :(   Â

ETA the teeth she is/would be getting are the last four molars. She has all the others already.
