Back pain when sleeping, anyone??

I'm 28 weeks. The past three or four nights I've had a lot of back pain (really bad the last two nights)....it's always my lower back, but it's on whatever side I'm laying on. I switch to the other side and it goes away quickly (probably within five minutes but I can't be sure considering I'm half asleep) and then I wake up with it on the side I switched to, so back to the other side I go. I'm probably switching sides every hour to hour and a half, I think. When I wake up in the morning it hurts on whatever side I'm on, but vanishes within a couple minutes or so...I actually forget about it pretty quickly because it goes away so fast.

What is going on?? I didn't have this issue with DS (back pain or just general discomfort while sleeping, sure, but never like this). I've been sleeping on a couch lately, but it's actually a rather comfy couch and I've been sleeping on it for over two months now and this pain just started, so I doubt it's that. Plus last night I slept on my old bed at my parents' house...granted, it's not the best bed (it kinda really sucks) but I've never had this issue on it. It's the same bed I slept on when I was pregnant with DS!

Help??? I'm hoping this will be like all the other irritating things this pregnancy and will go away within a few days....I thought I was finally getting to the point where the "wtf-I-didn't-have-this-last-pregnancy" crap was finally going away and that I was just going back to normal pregnancy stuff. This whole pregnancy has thrown me for a loop....I swear I think this baby is a girl and that she's starting the drama early! orngtongue.gif

I experience the same thing with my hips. I'm 39 weeks and it started about 37. I'm sorry I don't have any solution, but just wanted to let you know that I can empathize. Switching sides every 1 to 1-1/2 hours is no fun.

Happens to me too. The ache actually wakes me up if I'm on my back for more than a few minutes. Good times.
