Need a dentist recommendation badly!! Pediatric / holistic

I've found pediatric dentists, and I've found holistic dentists, but I'm not sure which would be better.  My 17 mo old has what I believe are two cavities and demineralization on her four front top teeth.  I don't know if it would be better to go to someone who does holistic dentistry and "accepts" peds (but may not necessarily work well with them), or if I should go to a pediatric dentist who will make her feel more comfortable, but I may freak out over the toxins / methods that they use.  I'd like to find someone who is more "green" and good with pediatrics.

I am willing to drive - so anywhere from Indy to Chicago on the west side of the state would be ok.  She has an appointment booked with Dr. Wiley Green of Holistic Dentistry in Frankfort, Indiana (anyone been to him or heard anything about him?).

Thanks!

I'm not familiar with Dr. Green.  A holistic dentist sounds like a great option.  When you made the appointment did they seem fine with your daughter's age?  My dentist says upfront he prefers not to see young children.

My children see Lisa Gabrish DDS in Chesterton.  She is not holistic but is a pediatric/special needs dentist.  She might work with you regarding a holistic treatment.  My children have only had exams and cleanings, but once she knew my preferences she was fine with no x-rays, no fluoride, and gave the children Tanner's Tasty paste samples instead of Colgate.  When I spoke with her about the benefits of Xylitol on teeth she was knowledgeable and supportive.  She has always been very patient and kind to my children - our first ped dentist in Valpo was a nightmare.

Hi, I'm in the Indianapolis area and also in a similair situation.  I took my 2 yr old son to a pedi dentist and they want to sedate him to fix cavities and put 4 crowns on.  They don't want me in the room and it sounds like a nightmare for all of us.  Please let me know what you find out.  I just started researching our options.

PM Minmoto2, she's just gone through this with her 2 year old trying out a number of dentists in the area.

What I remember:

Millennium Park dentistry, in Chicago near Millennium Park, was a good holistic option with oxygen treatments that reversed a couple of small cavities that were starting to form.

Locally, one of the dentists with Riley was the gentlest she'd ever seen.

LeilaB just had dental work done with her 2year old as well. Ended up with a crown because pain developed before there was a real chance to reverse damage.
