Can we talk water filters?

I don't know where to put this.  If this is in the wrong places, mods please move.

I am between two different water filter systems.  One is Aquasana and the other is Nikken.  The thing I understand about Aquasana is that it doesn't remove as much (but still far superior to PUR and Brita), BUT the benefit is that it isn't reverse osmosis, so it keeps the water alkaline.  The co tells me that reverse osmosis makes your water acidic.  It removes 99% of heavy metals, etc but it only removes 60% of fluoride (all of the fluoride that is added is removed but the flouride naturally occuring in water remains).  It also leaves all the minerals intact, so you don't have to worry about mineral supplementation. Under the counter system is like $150.

Then there's is Nikken that (I believe) is reverse osmosis and removes EVERYTHING.  Then it adds minerals back into the water - such as coral calcium.  I believe it is more expensive - like $800?

Not sure I want any flouride in my water, but I am not sure I like that the Nikken is reverse osmosis?  I think?  Not sure if I want coral calcium added back to my water?

Does anyone have any experience with this?  I'd like to get something ordered and get a plumber scheduled soon!

I have never used Aquasana nor Nikken but I'm also loooking into water filters and doing my research, I will most likely purchase Berkey Water Filter.

We got a RO, and then found out that the canisters are made from aluminum, not stainless steel, and they are lined with BPA. Great!

It's made by Everpure. Not sure if all of them are this way, but just wanted to let you know our experience.
