Critique my bw'ing pictures

I need help with my Baby Hawk Mei Tei.

#1 I feel like it's too loose on my shoulders and the straps slide towards the edge of my shoulder.  It pulls hard on my shoulders.

#2 the straps tend to roll up and dig in around my waist fluff.

#3 I feel like it constricts my breathing.  Then if I loosen it she slides down too far.

ok, thanks! from the picture, to me the most uncomfortable thing i see is that the waist strap seems like it is tied around your belly. when i was using a mei tai, i tied it around my hips--making sure that my hip bones were taking most of the brunt of the weight. as far as the upper straps being too loose, i think perhaps once you fix the waist part, it might just make the shoulder part more comfortable. if not, you could try crossing the straps across your chest (like an X) if that's not even more uncomfortable. alternatively, try tying the shoulder straps closer to your neck and make sure they are completely spread out, not bunched up.

maybe someone else has some better tips too!

I agree with the PP, your waist strap needs to be lowered onto your hips.  I think that may be causing part of your issue with your shoulder straps as well. Do you see how in the first picture the waist strap is pulling on the shoulder strap? What I do is cross the shoulder straps behind baby's back/bum, and then pass them under the opposite foot before tying them in front.

I don't have a great picture, but you can kind of see from this one what I mean:

Oh, and I find I still have to make sure the waist strap is nice and flat before tying or it can (and still sometimes does) roll up and give me grief.

Ah ok.  I had someone tell me totie it high.  But just looking at the pics helps me to see some of my issues.  I am going to tie lower and report back.  TY.

I was going to suggest lowering it a little - but then I looked at the picture and then had second thoughts what to suggest!

But from the other replies received, definately lower it a little xx

I would suggest tying it in the back underneath baby's bum. That is what I've always done for a MT.

i think you have to yank her up a few inches too. once you get the waist strap tied, get her situated on your back, take the two top straps, lean forward, and jiggle her up a bit... right now she's sitting below the waist strap, her bum should be level with it. then, bring the top straps down on your shoulders and cross them behind you OVER her hips, UNDER her bum and bring them to the front to tie. right now she's essentially just sitting in a big saggy hammock, and pulling down on the waist straps, which causes the bunching and discomfort. if you do all this while leaning over, you aren't fighting gravity and can get her tied nice and tight and high up. the waist straps should be resting right over the top of the hip bones. by the pictures, that's only maybe an inch or two lower than where it is now.
