This is normal right?

I just found out I'm pregnant last night.  I had what I now know was implantation cramping on Saturday (I thought it might be then, but was afraid to read into things).  Anyway, I had some mild off and on cramps since Monday, but they were BAD last night.  They were like period cramps.  No bleeding.  I keep checking in the bathroom to make sure, but no blood and 3 positive pregnancy tests.  Is this cramping normal?  How long does it last?  Is it just an early symptom typically?  I'm gonna have some hot chocolate or hot cider to see if that helps.  They hurt, but my period cramps are usually a bit worse...it's just that I can't take any Advil this time. :)

Thanks for the reassurance...I keep feeling like this is going to end or something.  I'm still in shock anyway.  I feel like I will wake up from this dream any minute.

With my first, I had cramping every day for the first month. They weren't terrible, but definitely noticeable. Congrats on your pregnancy!

With my youngest, I had cramps for the about the entire first trimester.  I remember that I couldn't relax for quite a while because I kept cramping, I was always concerned that I was going to lose him.  So yeah, it seems to be fairly normal.  My OB reassured me that everything was OK, but until the cramping stopped, I just wasn't able to relax and enjoy the fact that I was pregnant.

Thanks for the reassurance.  I'm trying to relax because it's not like there's anything I could do even it was a problem.  I feel better though knowing it happened to others.  This is my first pregnancy so everything is new. :)

Yep, cramping here too.  It freaked me out of course, and I remember being really anxious in my fifth week about bleeding (which never happened) but everything was fine.  For some reason by the time I got to six weeks I felt a lot better emotionally.

Glad to hear it's normal.

Do I need to worry that it's getting better? lol

Also, I am for sure experiencing morning sickness.  Is it okay that it's better today or should I worry?  Not that there's anything I can do anyway, but you know...  I ate crackers before I got out of bed.  Seems to have helped.  Flying on a plane yesterday was oh so nice feeling sick. :)

I'm a dork...this will be a long pregnancy if I keep this up.  I still don't feel like it's true yet.  I feel like the 7 BFP's are jokes...the 8th darker one this morning also seemed to be fake.  I know that sounds dumb.

oh honey, stop worrying!!  In the early stages of my pg with DS I had nausea in the mornings, but not every morning...  then I developed a terrible aversion to ANY kind of smell (try going through the deli/fish section of the supermarket.... puke.gif )...  and THEN I had constant nausea from about 8.5 weeks until 7.5 months (I hope yours stops by the 2nd tri though!!!).

You are sounding completely "normal"....  although the only normal there is is the "normal" that's normal for you!  You're going to discover that level of "normal" as you go.  Keep doing the crackers before you get up...  and also try to have a low-GI high protein snack just before you go to bed at night too (I used to have an apple and a hot milk, or some crackers and cheese or something) - something to last a while and help take the edge off in the morning from the added empty-belly nausea.  love.gif

Thanks!  I'm feeling pukey again today.  We'll see.

Yep, totally normal mama!  Your uterus is just getting started on quite a journey!  It's just having some growing pains :)  I had such a hard time believing and then enjoying the fact that I was pg, everything freaked me out.  I wish I could have relaxed more. . .shoulda, woulda, coulda.

Anyway, yes, I had lots of cramping in the early weeks, especially right around the time I found out I was pg.  In fact, I kept just thinking I was about to get AF at any minute, so I didn't test even though I was a couple days late (ha, that won't happen again, now I am a total POASaholic). .. but then turned out I was pg!  And I didn't have any serious morning sickness till about 6-7 weeks and even then it would sorta come and go.

Congrats!

Thanks for more reassurance.  My poor hubby...I worry if I don't feel sick or crampy, but then panic when I do have cramps.  :)  I guess I just need to try to relax and realize that what will be, will be.  I can't change things right now and I'm doing the "right" things.  Thanks again.
