Probably one of the most odd and TMI questions ever....

but here it goes...

Over the years I've learned that my body produces a certain smell when AF is almost here or here. I think I'm the only one that can smell it as DH never commented...

I'm 32 weeks and for the past few days I've been smelling that same scent. It's weird. I keep almost freaking out thinking I'm bleeding or something when I'm not!

It's just the overflow of hormones, right?

I think it is just the hormones, because I occasionally get that smell too. I know exactly what you mean, I immediately start thinking about my period being here.

And, I did have some bleeding once and the smell was not there at that time.

Interesting. I"m guessing hormones too.

I never notice any smell, (I"m not pregnant  btw) but, I have one friend who I could tell by smell when she had gotten or was about to get her period. It was weird. We worked in the same office for a few years, and ended up on the same cycle too.

I've noticed it for years now...like, since my early teens (I started when I was 10 and I'm 23 now so I've had some time to recognize some things LOL)  I just always assumed it was normal and happened to everyone.

Huh, I wonder if it is related to your progesterone levels?  I was just reading yesterday that progesterone peaks in pregnancy at 32 weeks, and of course it is high right before it drops and starts your period, too.

I've noticed a different scent since I've been pregnant this time that I never noticed before.  I'm guessing hormones, too.

My dh said I smelled like pasta when I pregnant with dd1. The entire time I was pregnant with dd2 he would occasionally sniff my skin to "see if I smelled like pasta yet" though, apparently, I never did. This time he hasn't tried yet rolleyes.gif

I have a terrible sense of smell, so I can't corroborate his story.

You other ladies never notice a smell when you are about the get AF? It's weired, it's not a gross smell, and it isn't the kind of thing you can "sniff out" but it was always an odor that would just hit me when I went to go to the bathroom, but it wasn't like my vajayjay was reeking or anything. It's hit me a few times during this pregnancy.

I don't know, I don't get many cycles between babies. LOL

yup.. it's not a stink, but it's a difference in scent. also notice a difference in scent when i'm ovulating :) i have a sensitive nose i guess! aren't hormones neat?

Yep I have noticed it as well. It makes me crazy because I feel so stinky but dh never noticed or has never mentioned it.

I have that smell thing too... i get it every now and then through pregnancy.. DH has never commented on it either...

After we tested and confirmed the pregnancy, DH told me he already knew because of how I smelled.  I hadn't noticed it yet...

So, I did ask DH about it. He said he hasn't noticed lately (but he hasn't, uh, been down there lately) but he has noticed in the past! He laughed and said, "That's how I always predicted you were about to start."
