feeling very paranoid- mild flu symptoms and 31 weeks PG

I have had some very mild flu-like symptoms the past couple of days... yesterday I felt like a low grade fever was coming on (had a few episodes of warmth that came and went but nothing came of it, I never took my temp), scratchy throat, swollen glands, feeling really run-down, mild headache. Today I felt better but tonight my glands r swollen again. My 4 year old has a runny nose and cough, but I don't have any of that. I keep worrying about Listeria b/c it can have mild flu like symptoms and I feel like I am starting to panic! My dh thinks I am nuts, I was telling him that maybe I should get a blood test at the er. Please someone talk me down... anyone here have fluvlike symptoms in late pregnancy?

Your symptoms may also just be caused by a cold / viral infection, esp. since your daughter also has a cold (you don't have to have the same symptoms for it to be the same disease - it just depends on how your body fights the infection).  Your immune system gets weakened in pregnancy, making it more likely to pick up such things, esp. since it's in the winter on top of that.  I am recovering from a mild cold (esp. sore throat, blocked nose) myself, in fact.

If you're really worried and you cannot get rid of the worry, you could ask your midwife / OB at a next visit for a blood test (so you will feel calm again - not because I think anything is likely to be wrong), but I wouldn't go to the ER for this.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks so much for replying!!! I woke up this morning with my throat feeling a little more sore and once in a while I have a bit of the sniffles so I guess I have a touch of whatever my son has.

Thanks again! I hope you feel better soon too! :)

Good to hear you're getting real cold symptoms ;-)  Hope they're not too bothersome and you'll feel better soon!
