Great info baglady and other mamas! We are into day 1 of tree without any protection yet and DD is not attacking it yet! No ornaments though! The main point of interest thus far has been the kitty sleeping under the tree. We'll see how the next couple days go and may head straight to BRUS to get that gate! I dount think having it closed around the tree would work here though due to width + DH's train underneath :)
IÂ bet any wrapped presents underneath would probably be unwrapped in a jiffy!
