Salt Lake City homebirths recently?

Has anyone here recently had a homebirth in SLC that they were over the moon about?  I have a friend who lives there that is planning her first birth at home and is feeling ambivalent about her midwife.  She is looking for some word-of-mouth referrals in the SLC area.  Any personal experience with local midwives would be greatly appreciated!

Where exactly is your friend?  I know of good midwives who catch babies in Utah County and South Salt Lake area.

We had our son with Chris Miller, and she is our midwife this time, too. She is awesome. She's been delivering babies since the 1970s, has delivered nearly 3,000 babies, and she really knows her stuff. We had an awesome homebirth experience with our son, and wouldn't trust anyone else to be our midwife as much as I trust Chris.

I've used Rebecca Williams CNM, CPM but I see her website says she's booked until July 2011 http://www.greatexpectationsbc.com/.  I would suggest she ask local child birth educators.

I just had a home birth with Raeann Peck and she was amazing. She did midwifery school 32 years ago and has been doing it ever since. She feels like it is her calling in life. She is a very kind, loving, knowledgable, and spiritual person. Her fee is really low, and she has also trained a midwife or two in the valley that were recommended to me. I really enjoyed her. She knows her stuff and I always felt like I was talking to a best friend. I could talk to her for hours... and did so often. :)
