Dr issues

so my DD's pedi is great. shes laid back sorta natural, respects my choices (not to vax mainly). I am in western MA and its been really hard to find a Dr. who will even do that...but shes only there 2x a wk and i never see her when DD is sick b/c shes not there...so heres the issue.

the Dr that owns the office and works there...i strongly dislike him. he talks down to me (im only 23 i think thats why), always informs me how DD NEEDS to be VAXed...and more recently we got in an argument over extended BFing...

she was sick and i brought her in and he says whats she eating and i said she wont eat she will only nurse and he looks at me and says at this age a varied diet with cows milk is SUPERIOR to BM and i said wait a min. you are saying i need to wean her right? and he says yes if its in her best interest. well i kind of lost it and then he says well IF SHES EATING SOLIDS then its better to give her BM but if she will ONLY nurse then its better to wean her. errrrrrrrrrrrr...moron. so i told him he was ignorant for giving me mis-information and that if i was naive i wouldnt have challanged him and i would have went home and said oh DR xxx said cows milk is better for her than BM now b/c BM is sooooooooo deficient after the baby is 1 y/o...errrrrrrrr.

so the thing is obvs when i go see a Dr in the practice he benefits from it b/c he owns the practice. would you leave and find a new DR? is it worth it to just stay where i am and NEVER make an appt with him again even if  do you think i should do in thsDD is sick and hes the only doc on? what do you think i should do in this situation. DD has mass health btw so our Drs are a tad limited even though we pay for her masshealth.

If you can only see him (or the one you like, but is never there) when she's sick then I think you should switch. What good is it to have a good one for well/scheduled visits when sick visits are more crucial to be in line with your beliefs (extended BFing, abx use, etc.). I found a great pedi through a local BFing group, have you tried posting in your local tribal area for one?
