Looking for encouragement

I need to lose weight - 70 lbs in total to get back to my ideal weight.

I was already overweight when I got pregnant, and I hoped I would lose it naturally through breastfeeding, but I ended up having a miscarriage, and now have more weight to lose.

My biggest problem with losing weight is that I struggle with chronic fatigue, and I tend towards being a real homebody and don't find going out or being active comes naturally to me.

I know that if I could go out for a walk everyday it would probably make a difference and help me start making changes to my diet as well.

What I really need is people to hold me accountable or encourage me to keep going and get out there or exercise regularly.

Can anybody help?

For me personally, exercise was not enough to get rid of the weight.  I exercised consistently for almost a year and still nothing.  I think if you can get into the habit of really tracking what you eat/eating more mindfully, it's a good first step in terms of discipline.  Once you start to lose a little, that may spur you on to be more active.  You might actually want to be just because you feel lighter.

I'm hoping it will work the other way round too - becoming more active will help me change my eating habits.

I've already gone back to being vegetarian, and I think now is the time to just eat more sensibly - not to worry too much about dieting, but just eat more fresh fruit and veg and less baked food etc.

I have found that exercising makes me want to exercise more and eat better.  Believe me, being active DOES NOT come naturally to me, either.  I forced myself to do it, and it became easier and easier.  I run outside (at night) or on my treadmill and have found that I really like running.  It's something I can do independently and not have to worry about other people .

I've ordered some exercise dvds. It's not much but it's a start, and something I can do privately at home. Maybe later I'll have the confidence to go out to a class instead.
