Decorating a Bathroom?

I am sooooo not Martha Stewart!

I need to figure out how to decorate our bathroom (we've remodeled and added a second bathroom).  I'm fine with picking out towels and shower curtains (found a great site, www.compostablegoods.com which has made-in-America organic towels! Yay!) ....

But what to do about the bare walls (if anything)?  We have a large mirror over the sink, but the rest of the walls are bare other than the towel racks.  I'm actually fine with that but I suspect that they probably ought to have something on the walls.

I'm not big on dusting and makework housework (I've enough to do without adding that in!) .... so those little shell things that my Grandma had in her bathroom, don't appeal to me. 

So what do you put up in a bathroom?  I'm assuming it would need to hold up well with some moist air .... so framed photographs wouldn't cut it.  Any suggestions?

Maybe something like a candle wall sconce or a wall sculpture?

I framed some artwork my girls made. I asked them to incorporate the colors and theme of the bathroom so they kind of matched and then I framed them in matching wood frames. They turned out so cute and my girls that "they" decorated it.  

Vinyl lettering is also nice since you don't have to dust anything. Something like this maybe? You can google for other ideas.

I have framed photos in my bathroom. We run the exhaust fan for at least 30 minutes after showering, so there isn't a build-up of moisture in the room.

Our bathroom has a tree theme - a warm tan color on the walls, a birch branch wallpaper border below the ceiling, a leafy-patterned shower curtain. There is a birch log candle holder on the back of the toilet. The pictures are all special to me - a photo of a huge oak tree that I climbed as a kid; a photo of birch trees at the side of a lake (a professional photographer friend too that one), and another photo from a friend, of a cluster of pinecones hanging from a tree. The both towels are dark green and brown.

My teenage sons' bathroom has a hunting theme, which isn't for everyone, but it suits them perfectly! The walls are green on the top, tan on the bottom, with a camo wallpaper border in between, and a camo shower curtain. The other decorations are all hunting-related.

Bathrooms are small, private rooms, and I believe they are a perfect place to go crazy with decorating that you wouldn't do anywhere else in your house!

I wrote out verses of poems to do with going to the bathroom and then framed them after mounting them on scrapbooking paper which complimented the bathroom colours.

We have a sea themed bathroom because our bathtub and tile is seafoam green.  I put up some kitchy plaster fish and bubbles.
