Food co-op or mail order bulk foods?

Ladies-
We're facing a move to a VERY expensive area to live (Northern VA), so I'm looking for ways to save money so I don't have to go back to work.

Does anyone know of a co-op in that area- or any reputable mail or internet order bulk food businesses?

Thanks for the help,
Kate

We do a local coop here and use Mountain People Warehouse. I'm not sure if they are national or just california. You might go to your local natural food store and find out who there distributors are and then call them and ask if the do non-retail deliveries.

Edited to add: Also, I order in bulk at my local natural food store- if I order a case of something or a bulk item (i.e. 25 pound bag rolled oats or flour, etc.) then I get a 10% discount.

My sister lives in Northern VA. I will ask her to give you some advice. I know she shops the farmer's markets a lot. She has also found a few natural food stores and a new Whole foods type store moved into the area (Wegmans, I think).

In the book 'Healthy Cooking for Kids' there is a list of natural food wholesalers. There are 2 listings for places that will ship to your area.
