Headphones for a toddler?

Thread Starter

We are flying with our 17mth old DD in December.

It is a 5 hour flight. We have flown with her a couple of times and all went well.

The plane we are taking has individual screens at every seat. In the past we have been able to keep DD from the screens, but this time she will notice them and to tell the truth, letting her watch a show for a bit may be nice during the flight.

My question is: how do you allow your DC to hear sounds on movies during flights?

Can you put headphones on a toddler?

At what volume level is safe?

Will your child even wear headphones?

also, any other tips on keeping a young toddler busy on a flight would be great to have.

TIA

Hi! Califone makes these adorable kids phones that are great. We used them on a flight in September.DD liked them and they can take a toddlers throwing and banging and still work. I posted a thread about whether or not they were safein family safety many months back and another poster recommended them.

DD used these: http://www.amazon.com/Kidz-Gear-Wired-Headphones-Kids/dp/B0007NWL70/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291079132&sr=8-1 when we flew over the summer. They worked well for her, and she still occasionally asks to use them, so they must be pretty comfortable. I like how they have their own volume control, and they come with an attachment that limits how loud they can get.
