baby only takes bottle from mama..NOT HELPFUL

My little guy (almost 3 months) won't take a bottle from anyone but me. This is really not helpful as I'm supposed to be going back to work 1/2 days, starting next week! We've been trying since he was about 5 weeks old...he doesn't mind it from me (though he doesn't like it as much as he likes the boob), but from anyone else, he takes a few gulps and then freaks out.

I've tried lots of things, like starting the bottle myself and then handing bottle and baby to DH without interrupting, doing frequent bottle feedings myself so that he gets used to it, etc.

IDEAS?

(I should note that we use expressed breastmilk, not formula, in the bottle)

Our DD used to do something quite similar when she was about that age. Our best tactic: distract her. If she can hold things in her hands, give her a little wooden ring or an old scrunchie or something to play with while she's eating. I also used to wear my mala sometimes when feeding her and she would play with the beads and tassel while eating. Sometimes it was the only thing that worked.

Sidenote: We still use this tactic for feeding solids. Sometimes she'll only eat if she has a tablespoon or something else to play with. Good luck! smile.gif
