I initially wanted him to!  But then we realized that it is cheaper to get one off Craig's list, really, and we don't have room for one anyway!  redface.gif

Nothing, for right now.  If I decide we want one, it would be super easy to add one on.  But I figure the time between when the baby could maneuver itself down to there and roll off the bed and the when we can show him/her how to back off of the bed safely is a very short period.  I'd rather have them roll off of it then try to climb over a rail and fall.  The top of the mattress is only 24 inches from the ground, and it is carpeted with a nice pad underneath.  Though I think once Squirt starts rolling around that much, I"ll put some pillows or blankets down there on the ground, too, just in case!

DDCC to say...that is flippin' AWESOME!!! You are lucky to have such a handy hubby :D I'm gonna have to see if DH can manufacture something like that for the next baby. We have a used Arm's Reach Co-sleeper, but I would much prefer something that is level with our mattress. I hate the lip, and so rarely put Malachi in it.
