Paranormal Romance share your fav. authors

I am really into paranormal romance and am always looking for new authors. I especially like the ones that run in a series.

So far I have read:
Gena Showalters Lords of the Underworld
Kresley Cole Immortals after Dark
Larissa Ion Demonica
Sherryln Kenyon Dark Hunters, Dream Hunter, Were Hunters and The League (still working on getting all the books with the Hunters)
Lynsay Sands Argeneau & Rogue Hunters


Any other series out there that you like?

I really liked Jeanine Frost's Night Huntress series.  The female protagonist really kicks butt, which I thought was a nice change from the usual strong man / weak female formula.  But the love interest is wicked strong too so it is a great combo.  It also follows the same couple for the four books instead of focusing on a new couple each book so I felt really connected to them by the end.  

Of course there is the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.  I am not as in love with them as other people seem to be, but they were all right.

Kelley Armstrong and the Women of the Otherworld series is good too.  The first book is just about weres, but the second introduces vamps, witches, demons, etc.  Most of her female protagonists kick butt too.

I like laurell k hamilton's anita blake series.  A lot of people feel the series starts well and goes down hill near the middle, however I only partly agree. I like most but not all of the later ones.  I will admit that the major criticism I've read of the later books (but not the first... 5 or 8 or so, I don't recall where it transitions) is fairly true, that plot and character development kind of goes out the window a bit to incorporate as many sex scenes as possible. I still enjoy the later books too though.

I like Anita Blake as a character, she's pretty tough.

I liked kelley armstrong.  I've read several of the books, and really enjoyed them.

I liked the first Mercedes Thompson book by Patricia Briggs, I haven't read any of the other ones.

I'm really enjoying the Christine Feehan Dark (Carpathian) series.  They're a bit formulaic and I like some better than others but, overall, I'm enjoying the series.  I do like her take on the whole carpathian / vampire thing.  She has a unique vision of vampires.  Overall, I recommend them.  But, I admit - I like super steamy paranormal romance :o And these are super steamy :o

I also liked the Black Dagger Brotherhood very much.  Again, I liked some more than others but, I loved that each Brother was super flawed, damaged etc....it made them way more interesting.  In the Feehan series, all the men are perfect.  Not so much in the BDB.     

The Anita Blake books were way too gory for me.  The violence and horror was way over the top for my liking. 

The Lyndsay Sands (Argeneau) books were good - very light, easy reads.  But, you do want to read them in order.  They can stand alone but, characters from previous books show up in later books.

Thank you so much for the Jeaniene Frost Night Huntress recommendation! I just finished the 4th book an I have to say, this is one of my all time favorite vampire series. Great story lines, great strong characters. Super steamy! Loved these books!

Did you see she has two companion books to the series? They are the Night Huntress World books. One is Spade's story and the other is Menarches story. I cant wait to read them and book 5 that comes out next month.

For those who like/are interested in Laurell K Hamilton, she also wrote the Merry Gentry series, which is also, admittedly heavy on the sex scenes, and pretty gory, but I found them quite addictive.

  The stories are very suspenseful. You are compelled to keep reading to find out what will happen next and when you are not reading you keep thinking about the characters and the story wondering about what is happening and what might happen next.  The last and final book does not come out until January! The violence and sex are not overly graphic (less than in the Sookie Stackhouse books), although there is more of both in the 4^th book.
