Nursing Mamas TTC December - Page 7

I got the highest temperature I have EVER gotten this morning. Could that possibly mean I'm pregnant?! I'm definitely not sick anymore or feverish. And our house is COLD so it's not 'cause I was overheated. Oh, I wish time would go by faster.

jennyvangy - I got my first ppaf after eldest son at 7 months pp (but different situation with breastfeeding), with my middle son at 11 months pp (then we still happily breastfeeding), and with my youngest at 4 days shy of 19 months pp (with the same breastfeeding frequency as I had been with my middle son). This time I took Vitex and then Maca for months, to no avail. I had read day weaning wouldn't really help because the major hormones were produced in the hours between 1a-6a. So 2 weeks after we began nightweaning I finally got my first ppaf. Try not to compare how your body was then to how it is now. It's hard, but just as every child within in a family is different, so is your body after each child.

When are you testing Lioness Mom and lifeguard?  I'm going to be stalking you. :)

Well, I found brown CM this morning and was super-duper tired yesterday. . .so I think AF is on her way. If my non-temping calculations are correct than I had a 6 or 7 day LP.  Not toooo bad, I expected it to be short for my first PPAF.  I hope this doesn't mean that I have to see AF every 3 weeks for awhile now though.  .that would stink, its bad enough every 4 weeks!  I'm actually kind of relieved that we didn't BD in the fertile window, b/c if we had I'd just be holding out hope for implantation spotting. . .and I'm actually curious to see what happens with my first couple of cycles. This whole journey back to fertility has been (is) frustrating, but also it has made me feel really in touch with my body. . .it was neat to see the signs of fertility return and to have my suspicions of Oing confirmed.

Anyway, no Dec BFP for me, but I have high hopes for some of us in this group!

I've got 7 cheap hpt's in the bathroom. Today is 7dpo so I figure I'll test daily for the next week. I don't actually expect a bfp before the end of the week but it gives me something to do.

I'm hoping there will be some BFPs soon! :-)
I've heard it can take 1-3 months after a change in nursing, like night weaning, for AF to show up. Is that true? Is it usually 1 month but sometimes 2 or more?
Also, does the clock start once weaning begins (like the first night of night weaning), or once it's been a considerable amount of time (like a few weeks)?
Thanks ladies. You've been a great help :-)

purpletulip--I think like everything else about TTC while BFing it totally varies from woman to woman.  I've heard mamas say that 2 weeks after making a change they Oed and others wait months and a very few have to wean entirely.  I didn't make any big changes, my body just decided it was time, I guess. Although my DS did (on his own) increase his eating of solids over the past month or so.  So I expect that kick-started things.

Good question, I'd like to know the answer to this...  we night-weaned maybe two months ago now?  I already had af, but hoped that in addition to allowing me to get more sleep, it might mean my hormones might level off?  Dunno....

As for me, I am out this month.  Af is here, and I tested, just in case, and it was a bfn.  :(  Best of luck to everyone else!!!!

Ooooh, LionessMom and lifeguard, fingers are crossed for both of you, sounds so promising! Can't wait to see some BFPs!

As for me, still no sign of AF! DS doesn't nurse too much during the day anymore, but he night-nurses like a newborn. My girls were the opposite at this age... still nursed lots during the day, but slept well. I'm curious to see what bearing that has on the timing of my first PPAF.

For those of you who have night weaned, what exactly does that mean to you? No nursing for 6 hours?

My little guy is getting all 4 canines and the next 4 molars. He wakes up ALL NIGHT LONG.

I am exhausted and really needing to night wean, but I know he is in so much pain! What to do, what to do!?

I would be happy to conceive in the next six months sometime... not sure when the first PPAF will show up, I have never gone this long after I've had a baby.

My hubby is *very* interested in me lately, it seems like he is trying to get me pregnant, although I know he would be happy to wait a while before adding #5... We've had a baby in '03, '05, '07 and '09. I guess we'll probably get prego by March to have an '11 babe. ;)

I'm not planning on doing anything to kick start my fertility. I am quiverful minded, wanting to "not try, not prevent" for the rest of my fertile years, but will follow DH's lead as far as (limiting) the number of babies goes. We'll see what happens!

I enjoy this thread. Good luck to those in the 2ww!

This is how I feel also, not so much for religious reasons as just really enjoying motherhood and feeling that it's my "calling" in life. We got started fairly early though, and could end up with 12 or 14 kids by the time we were done being fertile... which, well you know, wow. DH is more the voice of "reason" in this regard, and since we parent pretty equally I respect his choices as well. :)

Good luck getting your '11 babe!

Please move me to waiting to be ready.

I am in the middle of a miscarriage. I went in last week for blood work  1 week after I had had an ultra sound that put me at 7 weeks that showed a fetal pole with a heartbeat...everything was looking good. The bloodwork came back with my progesterone at 7 (down from 30) and my HCG was 4,000 when it should have been in the 50,000's. She did an U/S and said there was no longer a heartbeat. I started bleeding that night (thursday) and am still bleeding. Im not sure if I have passed the sac yet...Ive never been through this and quite frankly this is so much more horrifying than I ever could have imagined. I know there are ladies here that have been through this multiple times. It's awful after feeling so happy to have something you love already ripped away from you. Im sorry to any ladies here that are dealing with this or have in the past.

The doc said most likely there was a genetic defect, but I wonder if it was something I did or didn't do. I was taking Vitex and Maca powder and weaned off of them within 2 weeks of getting a BFP. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? Doc said no, but I still wonder. I also wonder if it is because I am just not healthy?? (newly diagnosed with subclinical hypothroidism and just started on Armour and have adrenal fatigue) I just wish this would hurry up and get over with. I want to put it behind me and move on. Right now I have a constant reminder with every cramp and trip to the bathroom. We will try again at some point, but quite frankly I don't think I could stand to go through this kind of disappointment again. brokenheart.gif
