I would like to join you ladies.  PPAF returned when DS2 was 18 months old.  This month is month #24 TTC.  We m/c'd at 11 weeks in May 2009 and 5 weeks in September this year.  I am still breastfeeding DS2 2-3 times a day, at naps when he takes them, at bedtime, and once or twice a night.  This month is the last month we can concieve and DH be home for the birth.  After this month he will be on deployment for the birth.  Today (Thursday) is cd 3.

Good luck to everyone here!  I hope no one is here for long!

I'm going to ask a possibly inane question...don't laugh, okay? Where do you get dollar store OPKs/HPTs? Is there actually a place called Dollar Store? Are they really so cheap, or do you have to buy in bulk?

gozal - I think it probably depends on where you are. Our dollar stores here (in Ontario, Canada) don't seem to carry them but I can get them cheap at a local specialty baby store (although they seem to struggle to keep them in stock).

We have stores called the Dollar Tree where everything is a dollar and they carry them as well as pregnancy test.

Thanks, lifeguard and mis_quoted! I know of a "dollar store" type of place near me, so I'll go check it out. The whole "is it worth possibly throwing $$$ down the drain to have peace of mind today" just adds to the stress of not knowing what's going on, you know?

Yep $Tree here in Nor Cal. . .I had no idea till I moved to Cal and saw them in the store and then I was super skceptical about them, but that's before I knew that pg tests cheaper than $10 existed. LOL  I used the $Tree one's quite successfully with my first.  Now the nearest $ store is too far away and I just order cheapies online.

In fact, I just ordered my first ever batch of OPTs b/c (drumroll please) last night I had a little blob of EWCM!  Woohoo!  And I think I've been having some O pain the past two days. . .I'm not convinced I actually am or have ovulated though (not nearly enough EWCM for me to think its really O yet).  But it's definitely the most "action" I've seen from my body.  So I think its time to start taking some OPTs, especially since I'm just not sure temping would work so well for me right now.  I know temping is the only way to truly know that you Oed, but at least with the OPTs I can get some idea. . .besides it will be fun to POAS!

If I got pg anytime in the next month my babies would be almost exactly 2yrs apart. . .I conceived around New Years Eve two years ago.  My gut feeling though is that it will take my body a number of cycles to regulate enough to get pg.  So come on AF, let's do this thang!

Have a weird temp question. I took my temp at 5:50am when Little Babe woke up to nurse and it was 97.8/97.7 (taken twice). Needless to say I was crushed thinking I had a very short LP (would only be 4-5 days) and had to wait another month before O'ing again. So I went back to sleep and temped again at 7:30am (normal wake up time) and my temp was 98.6/98.5 (again, temped twice). Now normally if I temp like this it follows the .1 rule per half hour variance of temping time, but wow! That's a HUGE difference! Has anyone else ever experienced such a big temp difference it a short amount of time?

Dear Aunt Flo,

Even if you plan on showing up sooner rather than later, would you please give me the satisfaction of waiting until I am 10 days post ovulatory? Just so that I know that it is possible?

thx

Dear Daughter,

Sorry for the bad news but I'm gonna have to cut down your 30 nursing sessions to like 6 or so. That will help me keep mean Aunty Flo away.

thanks for your understanding

Hey mama, I'm in Ontario and our dollar store sells them! Ovulation predictors too! PM me if you want me to pop some in an envelope and mail them to you!

Ha ha ha. This is funny. . .not the content, but the presentation. Sorry it sounds like you will have to cut down on nursing to extend your LP. :(
