Marmo - The baby aspirin should be fine. I took it for about a year while breastfeeding and then during early pregnancy with my 3rd, due to a heart issue/surgery.

Af finally arrived this morning. Not exactly a surprise but still disappointing.

I also had my appt with the dr this morning. My cd21 progesterone syrum test showed that I did NOT ovulate. So that was seriously disappointing. That means that of the 8 cycles we've been ttc (5 with clomid & 3 without) I've only o'd twice. The dr said it's not unheard of.

Anyway, he wants me to take 2 months off & then we will start up again with the clomid & add in letrozole (I know nothing about this drug so I will have to do some research) & start doing follicular ultrasounds cd14. I'm somewhat relieved to take the break but also sad to waste more time.

I am seriously thinking of using the time to wean ds. Either way I will at best be lurking here as I don't think I'll even bother to temp for the next 2 cycles. I'm also going to try to really tighten up my diet & see if I can get my weight down some more.

Hi, everyone! I'm new to this thread, so please forgive me if I have no idea what anyone is talking about, lol! I have been nursing Maya for 14 months now, and still no AF. DH and I are not trying/not preventing, but I'd like to get pregnant again sometime within the next few months. I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to night-wean Maya... I'd prefer to let her wean herself, but I keep thinking "Am I EVER gonna ovulate???" For all I know, I could have already ovulated and gotten pregnant again - I've been feeling pretty crappy the past week or so - but I took a PG test a couple of days ago and it was negative. Has anyone here gotten PG without getting their AF back? Has it taken anyone else this long (or longer) to actually get it back? Any suggestions on how to up the chances of conceiving while nursing? Thanks for all your help, ladies! :)

MayasMama88~ Welcome to the group, i put you under waiting to catch 1st pp egg. With my son i got AF back at 14/15months PP.

Mayasmama88-- Hi there!  I have an Oct '09 babe too! :)  Although I was part of the Sept DDC. . .but he came a little late and I got an Oct babe.  Anyway, I too haven't had AF back yet.  I *think* I ovulated about two weeks ago, but no AF yet, so maybe not.

I know there are certainly mamas who get pg without ever seeing AF, but I'd say that is much less common, since it often takes a few cycles to regulate enough to get pg.  I also think about nightweaning, l but have decided to wait till he's about 18 months old for that.

Anyway. . .Welcome!  I'm sure other mamas will have more info for you too.

Sorry I'm not keeping up right now, but I'm with my LO at my parents for Christmas, so I don't get much computer time.  I am still expecting AF. Still getting some random cramping, but nothing else.  I think I'm at 13-14dpo. . . .if I did indeed O.  Its easier not to obsess over it right now, while I am distracted with family and travel.

He's still night nursing a bit, so I'm not sure when AF will return. About a month ago I started feeling crampy/crabby, etc. and have since thought that my period would start on multiple occasions, but nothing yet. I've been POAS like a mad woman, and thought I was going crazy until I found this forum! It's nice to know there are other women going through this too, especially since this is uncharted territory for me! I was thinking I should have bought stock in HPT's! I've finally convinced myself to wait until Christmas Eve to test one last time, and then just not test anymore for the next few months (at least as long as DS night nurses). That's easier said than done, though!

You guys are in my prayers for lots of BFPs in the next few weeks! Thanks for posting this thread, it's really helpful! jumpers.gif

Welcome!  I POAS like a crazy-person too even without having had AF in two years. LOL.  At least I'm going cold-turkey for the holidays while I am at my parents house, although I had his passing thought the other day about walking to Walgreens and getting a HPT and then sneaking it back to my parents house.  What a weird addiction this is.

Mayasmama88 - I didn't get my ppaf after babe #3 until 4 days shy of 19 months. He did nightwean 2 weeks before and then it finally happened. With my older two children I got it back much sooner and without the need of nightweaning. You can try things like Vitex or Maca, if any type of weaning isn't what you or your babe is ready for yet.

I keep hearing about Vitex... what is that, exactly? (Off to research!)

hi! i have an oct 09 baby too!!

Hi MayasMama88 and welcome! I am definitely in the minority, but I never got AF back while breastfeeding for 3+ years (and haven't yet three months after weaning - that's why I'm here with the nursing mamas - I'm still waiting).I would occasionally start feeling like maybe my body was gearing up, but it never happened. My OB says it's perfectly normal, but man is it frustrating! I think I should have known when nightweaning didn't do anything. So I would say, try some herbals (like vitex) if that's your thing, then try night (or day) weaning if you feel comfortable with it, and then see. Most women seem to regain fertility by 24 months, but kellymom says 14.5 months is average - so yours might be right around the corner. I wanted to mention my experience, though, because I do wish someone would have told me about the possibility that LAM could be super extended - I would have made some different choices.

lifegaurd, sorry to hear about the doctor's news. Ugh, how frustrating. Here's hoping the next 2 months will fly by.

Hello all newer mamas!  (I'm still new myselfthumb.gif)

I got my fist ppAF when my first son was 13 months.  I'm hoping this AF comes sooner.  I've just begun the night weaning process.  I've been reading up on some Dr. Sears who suggests nursing the baby a lot during the day time to help encourage night weaning.  I'll let you all know how it goes.  He still sleeps in bed with us, so the poor guy definitely gets frustrated :(

Lifeguard-sorry for AF returning...  it definitely seemed like a sure thing..  so frustrating.

So apparently my hubby and I are supposed to go on a vacation this coming year with some friends.  I was hoping for sooner, but it sounds like maybe not until September or November.  Problem is, I do not want to be pregnant on vacation!!  ugh..

So after a 90 plus days of starting charting, I really think I might have ovulated! My cervix was very HSO and wet and now it's sticky & LFC. And my temps are way higher than they've been this whole time. Timing on BD wasn't great but I'd just be excited to see my first PPAF! My babe will be 13 months tomorrow. What do yall think?  http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1553df

Well I had an embarassing moment today, just wanted to share because my DH wouldn't understand I don't think:

So for the past week or two I've been nauseous. I had a weird metallic taste in my mouth whenever I ate that drove me nuts - for all I know I still have it, but may have just gotten used to it. My vaginal discharge seems to be alot thicker lately (I seemed to be very dry before, now some leaking) and I get minor headaches here and there. I feel like I felt when I was PG with Maya. However, I took a PG test a few days ago and it was negative (I think I mentioned that already). So even though it was neg, I still keep thinking I could be PG. Anyhow, today I had to go to the eye doctor to get my eyes checked and he put these drops in that made my pupils dialate. As soon as it started working I got pretty light-headed and dizzy. The assistant there asked if I was okay and she said that it can happen sometimes, but made it sound like it usually doesn't. So when the Dr. came into the room to continue the exam he asked if I was okay, and I told him I just started feeling a little lightheaded after he put the drops in. The way he was looking at me made me feel like maybe I needed to explain... or like it wasn't normal for me to be feeling dizzy.. so I blurted out "I think I might be pregnant, so that could be part of it.... (no response from Dr. Just more staring)... I've been feeling a little crappy for a week or so... so...." And he seriously didn't say anything and just continued the exam. And then to make matters WORSE I then say "Was that a weird thing for me to blurt out?" And he looked like I just showed him a photo of Rue McClanahan naked or something and stuttered, "Well, I don't know..." and then continued the exam. I'm such an idiot. And the whole time I'm sitting there I can feel my body heat rising and I just keep thinking, "I'm so pregnant. I just know it." And yet I'm afraid to take the other PG test I have because I'm sure it will be negative and I don't have the money to go buy another one.

WHEW!!! Sorry ladies, just had to let it out. I felt like a real idiot.

Btw, where is the best place to get a basal thermometer? I found some online for $1.99, but I wasn't sure if there was such a thing as "you get what you pay for" regarding BTs?

MayasMama88 - My DD is 22 Months and I just got my first PPAF two weeks ago.  DD had nightweaned (on her own) two weeks prior to that.  Everyone is different, but that is my story!
